Scores ECF game clinching goal. Book it.

Minor deal but I'm looking at it positive. With Scott, we can beat down on our opponents and make them think twice come playoff time.

Lol, so Boston goes out and gets Rolston, Motteau and Zanon to add depth and gear up, NYR goes out and gets a 11th defenseman... although i love John Scott for the monster he is

Maybe this can turn into a similar deal like 2 years ago when NYR traded a 5th (or may have been a 6th) for Jody Shelley. If I remember correctly, Shelley played great.

you never know.

The only thing I see this move doing is adding protection against the likes of Philly and Boston who want to goon it up when they get frustrated.

Rolston and Mottau suck. That's like a negative addition.

Scott is a nasty SOB. He won't play much, but won't hurt you much when he does.

This move signifies that the NYR recognize that the road to the finals will go through Boston. In our previous matches the Rangers have had no answer for the physicality of Lucic. Now you do.

never mess with a man with two first names. Especially if that man is close to 7 feet tall.

You can try to deke by him and trick him into taking dumb penalties, though.

I will miss that fifth-round pick.

I wonder why Sather wanted a clone of Stu Bickel. Do we have enough people who can't score yet?

So my Dad had a friend named John Scott, and he was a really nasty SOB....mean drunk. I remember they had a Super Bowl party, like 1988 (I was 10) and when he shook my hand, he squeezed it as hard as he could and made me cry.

So yeah, glad to have him aboard! hahaha

Meh. Don't take dumb penalties when you play and beat the crap out of people. Thank you.

Not expecting him to play too much. Will come in handy against the Flyers and Bruins, imo. Was really expecting them to do something else, but oh well...we're in first place and have been the majority of the year.

Half of the forwards we trot out there can't.

Scott is strictly a fighter. Can't play much and will never suit up in the playoffs. Perhaps will give Rupp a rest now so he can get healthy and also protect the King against the few remaining Goon teams - Flyers and Bruins. Maybe use Bickel as a forward in those games and Scott on the back line. Trade where you give up a 5th round pick is pretty much a non-event.

insurance? maybe Scott can actually play better D? Or better RW. I'm glad we got Feds back but this might be good 13th forward insurance since people are saying he also plays forward.

I'm amazed at his youtube fights. He is owning a lot of legit heavy weights. Apparently his nickname is "Jackhammer"

This is easily one of the toughest guys in the league.

This was already a tough team. Add Scott makes the Rangers easily one of the toughest if no THE toughest team in the league.

Don't expect him to play much and don't expect he'll play in the playoffs at all unless it gets really, really nasty or the Rangers get hit by tons of injuries but I don't really have a problem with this. He's bad news to get into a fight with. Between him and Steve MacIntyre these days over who is the best fighter.
