st. louis is a team id be very scared of in the playoffs. they play just like we do, except they are bigger and more physically intimidating.

God willing there's no serious injuries for our team for the rest of the season, besides Sauer and Staal we've haven't had the injury bug thank god

In terms of the easiest realistic match up? Vancouver.

In terms of most dangerous but satisfying opponent to beat? Detroit.

Don't want Vancouver. What would the riots be like after losing in the finals 2 years in a row? Give me Calgary. They'll just be happy to be there.

A Ranger vs Dee-troit City Stanley Cup final would be one for the ages.

We've already clinched home ice in the first round at least.

I would worry about Buffalo, as I can see a lot of 2-1 games ending in OT. Miller could steal the series! Washington scares me a little too, as Ovy can decide to be a one man show!

I'm mostly worried about the two teams on the bubble with over the top talent. Being Tampa and Washington. We've often found a way to beat those kinds of teams, but it's always difficult. Everyone else looking at the 4,5, 7 or 8 seed we can handle.

And it is...

The worst we can do is 4th place, at least according to the link above.

No, thats faux math, not real math. That doesn't account for if a team loses 7 in a row (god forbid). Then those #'s change.

We need Feds and Rupp to play better once the playoffs start

Who do you guys think is the most underrated playoff performer on the team?

While you are kinda right, I still find it funny for you to refer to statistics as "faux math" given that it is underlying practically every thing that is surrounding you at any given time.

I would not be thrilled with having to play a Winnipeg in round 1, for travel purposes alone.

Not saying I'm scared of Winnipeg at all, but that crowd is amazing. Reminds me a lot of MTL, and we all know how we play there.

im a little scared of playing Winnipeg. they are the one team i noticed that can upset a higher seed. and if the Rangers play them, well the Rangers dont do well vs quicker faster teams especially ones that arent expected to do much damage...Winnipeg does have skill and talent...i can see them winning a series or 2 in the playoffs if they make it....

Let's be realistic here when talking about who we want to see in the playoffs.

We're not gonna win the Cup by facing the Canes, Piles, Flyers, and Minny.

Why not?

I don't think there is really any team they could get in the first round that I feel could beat them in a best of 7, at least not any of the teams vying for the 8th spot playing the way they are now. A hot Tampa or Caps team could be undesirable.

The Penguins are really the only team I would not feel very confident against in the East as of right now. In a best of 7.

I want them to go through both NJ, and the Flyers, it would be awesome if they could do NJ, PHI, PIT, VAN/STL for the cup.
