Neither the colts or the raiders are anywhere near PLK of last year, the year before that or the year before that

The present and future of this league revolves around three teams Brockville, Cornwall and Pembroke

Now it is a three game series.

Nepean was very good tonight.

Perhaps not as good as last year's PLK team. If we only had a time machine ?????

It is a good thing that home ice is not an advantage.

Go Colts Go !

Exactly. I won't change my opinion. There is no such thing as a home ice advantage here.

Brockville will be ok,They finished 3rd overall this year and had many injuries to key players for the playoffs. If that makes it a poor coaching staff I think you need to give your head a shake.

It is good for the league to see someone other than PLK win. The long standing clubs are the backbone of this league and their presence provides stability. The final series appears to be all that you want to see in the finals...going the distance, home barn is not a guarantee win, no side shows, just good Junior hockey between the # 1 and 2 finishing clubs. The league is a better place for this final. Congrats to the Raiders and Colts!!

You are living in the past.

What counts is today and tomorrow.

Where is PLK today ?

Golfing.

Actually it is a simple comparison of this years teams to previous years....not exactly living in the past.
The present is what it is and it has been good hockey.
The future is just that. For the sake of the league hopefully teams do their best with recruiting, player selection and development of those players into good hockey players who play the game (the best game on the planet) competitively with class and respect for the game and their opponents. One can only hope!!

they will be a 6-8 team next yr, recruiting wont be so easy now that everyone knows going into this yr that they dont have an former 1000 game nhl man behind the bench

Enjoy, they will be back next year as one of the top teams and Nepean will be fighting for a playoff spot.

Colts up 4-1 second intermission. What's with the home teams losing in this series. Will Raiders rally tonight and if not will colts polish them off in Game 6?

You are correct, so use of the Nepean fans in full force this year seeing they have a team that matter for once.

Of course people should have opinions. That is the value of this forum.

And in my opinion, the previous years PLK would have had their hads full tonight playing the Colts or the Raiders.

Now if we only had that time machine ???

Not so fast. Yes 4-1 end of 2nd period. Then the Raiders come out at the begining of the third period and score two quick ones. 4-3. Game on !

Cornwall goes ahead 5-3.

Near the end of the period, Nepean presses and ties the game with 2 minutes remaining !

You could feel the momentum swing to the Raiders.

No score in the first OT.

Then Borkowski of the Colts gets the game winner in the 2nd OT.

If Cornwall losses this one, that could have been the series. It would be difficult to recover.

Friday's 6th game in Cornwall should be a true Jr A. "barn burner".

It would be nice to see some Nepean fans support their team.

Very Funny! No team would want to compare their past to the PLK!
As for golfing, PLK are holding a weekend Prospects Camp!
Good Luck to you next year...

No one questions the work ethic of PLK and they have the track record to back it up.

Perhaps it is the Colts year.

Next year ?

They will need more than luck.

It will be a rebuild year. With the Spink twins, Baun and Borkowski moving on to Colgate. With a couple of players aging out and one moving on to the OHL.

The Colts will be rebuilding.

There is no doubt that both the Colts and the Raiders have a lot of talent on their rosters, but to say that either would have been able to compete with last years Lumber Kings could be considered a bit of a stretch, at the moment.

Let's wait and see who wins the Bogart and then if they can move on to win the FPC see how they measure up Nationally. PLK won the whole shooting match last year with a veteran laden team which were very hot at the right time culminating in a near perfect game from Dupuis and timely goals from Milley.

If either team goes on to make it (and I for one would like to see the CCHL represented) that far, then let the comparison begin. Until then they are just two very good teams trying to prove whose best in the Ottawa/Ottawa Valley region....Could end tonight....Can't wait for the FPC!

That is a fair comment.
