I just listened to the audio, and it only confirms that Gregg Williams is grade A POS. He doesn't deserve to coach in the NFL or any form of organized football ever again.

In the audio he said something to the effect of, "Respect comes from them fearing us." What a piece of trash. Cheap shots do not garner respect.

All that tough talk and it was his team that went into a shell after Whitner knocked Pierre Thomas into next week. Have fun ever finding another coaching gig, Williams you piece of ****.

I would hope that this spells the end of Williams' NFL coaching career.

Some of the stuff in there is being overblown, but telling players to target a guy's knee is over the line. Think this ends any hope of the suspensions getting reduced because the bounty on Smith came after they were told to end the bounty program before the playoffs. Some of the delusional Saints fans will continue to mention this in the same sentence as Katrina.

Also targeting heads is pretty bush league.

Yeah, ****ed up speech, but you know what the best part about it is?

That if you remember the game, SF was the team that came out crushing dudes. I remember like 3 of the first handful of plays had big time hits. Most memorable one was the hit near the 5 yard line that lead to a fumble.

Looks like Williams gave that speech to the wrong team.

And after hearing that, didn't Crabtree get injured that game? Was it ACL? I think I remember it being an injury away from the ball, but maybe something happened earlier.

This was in the link:

Quote:
The NFL had warned the Saints before the playoffs that it had re-opened its investigation into the team's bounty program and the incentive program needed to cease, but the warning apparently was ignored.
How incredibly ignorant is Gregg Williams to keep this up when he KNOWS they're being investigated?

I hope he never coaches again, period.

Pierre Thomas was knocked out and Saints fans were whining about a helmet to helmet. Ironic.

The targeting of specific injuries is ridiculous. I have no problem with saying "hit ____ every chance you get" or "keep knocking _____ on his ass" but when you start saying stuff as targeting a guys ACL is ridiculous.

What a moron.

The targeting the head part irks me pretty badly.

According to a former NFL player, the head could mean the QB. That is the lingo that Defensive coordinators use for Quarterbacks.

Under normal circumstances maybe. But when he's taking about concussions ACLs and so on...not so much.

Under normal circumstances..yes that's true but specifically saying "Gore's head" and "Crabtree's outside acl" is pretty low and the Saints deserve whatever they get.

The weird part about that metaphor in this case is how he says, "kill Frank Gore's head". If he was referring to the Gore as the "head" of the Niners, wouldn't he have said we want to kill the 49ers head?

The way its worded makes it sound like they were literally targeting Gore's head and weren't just targeting the Gore since he was the "head" of the team.

I would love a 24/7 inside the locker room of a Football team. I hear that audio and I have mixed reactions. One, it sounds like Williams is a total ********* who should never be allowed to coach in the NFL again. On the other hand, what is this is a coaches way of hyping up the team and it happens in a lot of other locker rooms. I mean you hear what players say when they're mic-ed up. There's a lot of talk about "going out on the battlefield" and the "this is tackle football" mentality. I'm not condoning the audio by any means, but I just wonder how "non-normal" talk like this is in the NFL.

It was Ginn who was injured in that game, don't really remember how it happened(don't think it was anything dirty). Of course he missed the next game and we all know what happened when he missed the Giants game....

Exactly.

There's a limit.

Talking about giving someone a torn ACL--especially given he has no ACL injury history--crosses that line.

It's one thing to say "guy just came back from a rib injury, make sure to hit him hard and see how he deals with the pain", it's another thing to say "go cause an injury".
