GDT: Admirals at San Antonio Rampage (Florida) [5pm central]

Another West division rival faces the undefeated (in the regular session) Ads (7-0-1-0). They beat San Antonio (5-4-2-0) on Monday 2-1 on a Gamache OT goal. Let's see if they can do it again.

The Rampage announcer seems baffled by the lopsided play of this game.

This is Brian's make or break year, and lets face it, he hasn't appeared to be worth the pick we used on him. If he continues his play this year and shows he is ready to play in the NHL, I think he will surprise a lot of non-Nashville people. Maybe we will see him begin to be mentioned again in top 30 goalie lists .....Recognition, I'm sure, is the last thing on Preds management's mind right now. They want him to take the next step in his game....He has the frame to be an absolutely dominant goaltender, and one can only hope he reaches that potential that caused us to use such a high draft pick on him. This is his chance to shine, and so far he is doing a pretty good job. In defense of his game here in Nashville, it was a back-to-back performance . He is the no. 1 man now, and he is going to have to have his bumps along the way.

Well, the first round of the '99 draft was terrible. It was a total crap shoot. Of the 30 people selected in the first round, only 3 players have a really established themselves as impact players (Boynton, Havlat, Jackman). All were selected past the 17th spot. Interestingly enough, Poile selected Boynton in Washington in '97(Washington didn't resign him, so he re-entered the draft). I would sure like Boynton at this point.

I agree that this year is Finley's make-it-or-break-it year. After this year, Finley is wavier eligible. Basically, one of Vokoun, Mason, or Finley has to go. Could be some difficult decisions ahead. Either Mase or Finley will be gone. Unless of course, the lockout continues.

haydar comes back now after his 3 game suspension, will be interesting to see where noel goes with his line makeup....and where toots will now move to..

maybe?
gamache-fiddler-haydar
pivko-smith-shishkanov
upshall-hrkac-segel(or toots?)
severson-smithson-tootoo(or segal?)

leaves yablonski and brown as the scratches...although it sounds as if noel likes yablonski's play fine after these first 9 games(but it seems severson with 3 assists has played well too)...i'm just waiting to see if segal and tootoo flipflop on the hrkac or smithson lines

man is this team loaded or what,i honestly think that if you could plug in vokoun and maybe three more dmen and one or two forwards from the preds that this team could finish ahead of maybe CLB,PHX,PIT,CAR,FLA and maybe ANA playing in the NHL..well maybe not,but it would be interesting to see how they would do in head to head competition against some of the bottom tier clubs
