He passes back to GOLDBERG! If Girardi doesn't gets checked, it's a tap in. I like the play.

Look at half the lineup:

Stralman
Bickel
Woywitka
Scott
Rupp
Fedotenko
Boyle
Prust

These guys might be benched or released on bad teams.

The fact that they got a point is a miracle.

No way this team wins a Cup with Anton Stralman. Guy is a wimp.

He outright stole that point for us. Tampa commentators talked about how it should've been a 2-3 goal lead for Tampa at full time if it wasn't for him. That he got 3rd star of the game on the homer channel says something.
I agree, the defenders gave WAY too much room for the puck carrier entering the zone. They had a TON of time to set up as well. Just one of those games.

I'm not critiquing him. Relax. I said it was a "heck of a snipe by Malone." Isn't that giving credit to the shooter? Isn't that not putting the goaltender down?

I simply said he let up 3 goals on the last 7 shots he faced. All of them were good goals. Ideally though, you would have liked your goaltender to come up with one more big save.

He made that fantastic glove save, which allowed Dubinsky to get the game tying goal, but I'm sure if you asked Lundqvist he didn't want to stop just 4 of the last 7 shots...

I gave Lundqvist credit though. He was one of the only reasons we even got a point in the game. If it wasn't for him it would have been a blow out early on.

We've been winning all season with guys like this in the line up.

Played meh tonight but the lack of MDZ and Cally was prevalent. Bandage 'em up and lets go 3-0 on the Bruins.

Torts was matching the Boyle line all game. Tampa was throwing out their best players, it might have been that we get the second line change. Torts might have not gotten the match ups he wanted.

Reminds me of when Renney was coach and he gave Hollweg, Betts, and Orr more minutes than Jagr, also against Tampa. We lost that game as well.

Mind boggling.

Boyle will end up with more ice time because he is on the ice every time the other teams top talent is on the ice. We treat him as if he was a top tier two way center (Bergeron, Kesler, etc.) and he isn't. That line in its entirety greatly contributed to the loss.

But, Tortorella has to take the blame. They're on the ice for 3 goals, make several noticeable mistakes, and he doesn't change the match up. Clearly, they weren't the answer for Stamkos/MSL, but Tortorella stuck with it the entire game. I understand that as the away team you don't set the tone with line match ups, but if Boucher was icing Stamkos against Boyle at the face off, dump it in and switch it up to get a more favorable match up.

Stralman's been very good. Not sure why everyone hates him.

You're not allowed to praise Torts on Hfboards!!! Don't you know it's because Torts doesn't put the best players out ALL of the time that we lose games.

In all seriousness, Torts is a lock for the Jack Adams and it is well deserved.

Also, I know the Rangers are notorious for giving the opposing defenders a ton of time and space, because of their game plan, but Tampa's defenseman could have had a picnic with all the time and space they were given tonight.

We stole a point. Somethings got to be said about these two Refs. Tampa had a license to do what ever they wanted. Connolly. scores a goal.Right before that he pulls down Mc D. We should have been on a PP. High sticks were seen only one way. We still should have won but it was burning me up the whole game.

I'm not directly knocking Tortorella, just think Gaborik could have seen maybe a little more ice time that game. Prust's hands are like Cinder blocks, as much as I like him and maybe Gabby could have seen a shift or two on Boyle's wing.

Disagree, Hitchcock challenges easily.

Wow, it's been 14 games since Lundqvist had a game below .900SV%. That is unbelievable. Guy is a runaway candidate for the Vezina.

I'd love to see him beat Thomas's .938SV% from last season. Right now, after this game, Lundqvist fell to a .939SV%.

Will be interesting to see down the stretch.

That's a good point about Boyle; he's got some strong positives but he's just not amazing as a defensive forward.

Definitely not a lock. Lots of good candidates this year, torts being one of them.

not a good game, stole a point.

Dubinsky, Richards, Gaborik, Arty all looked great, although I would have liked to see Dubinsky do more on the OT goal. 3 out of 4 in two days, I'll take it.

So Prust is essentially a Tyrannosaurus Rex with cement lobster claws and an underbite?
