That first reply made me laugh out loud... How offensively is Buf being used this year? Is he being stuck in front of the net on power plays still?
They've done that like... once or twice? So no. The coach actually had a really interesting conversation with media awhile back about that, basically that they toyed with the idea of putting him in front of the net more often but decided to keep him at the point.
Well, the point and wherever he feels like going, because he's Buff.
It's been slowwwllly improving over the season. Starting in early December maybe he was looking at least tolerably responsible during most games, our D-coach seems to slowly be getting through to him.
Then he was injured for awhile and when he came back, he was back to wandering and catastrophic pinching. But he seems to be settling down a bit again, sometimes a "quiet" game from Buff is a really good sign.
Special kind of player. Don't know when we'll see another Dustin Byfuglien in the league, if ever.
I agree, he is unique. He seems to have a lot of detractors, but I tell you, there's no way I'd trade an asset like that. He can eat all the barbeque he wants, his skill set is unique and he can be a game changer.
i'm glad he's doing it while actually playing defense. he's huge and not slow, so at the very least that should make him decent defensively if he's willing to do it. with a shot and instincts like his, the points will be there regardless.
