That was a good period. However, this is the Habs and we're still losing. I am glad I never noticed Lombardi out there though.

Reminds me of when Burns was our coach, though no one one quite as good as Pat with scrubbing his players behind the bench.

Decent period, not completely outclassed like the Wilson era. Was shocked when I saw actual coaching going on behind the bench. Wilson would normally delegate that to an Asst to do while he poses with that sourpuss face of his

Price is a great goalie but the Leafs always seem to make him look like the best ever.

"Hanta Yo, baby!!!" to be precise.

I wonder if Ronnie is watching the game. I get visions of him watching the game in an armchair with a half-empty bottle of scotch, screaming "Hanta yooo!!".

Edit: When I think about it a bit more, I actually dont think he's watching the game. Probably sitting on his bed, staring into space.

They were shaky in the first 10 mins, but the last 10 mins they were playing much better. Gus was shaky too but he made a nice save against the Cole's breakaway.

Love to see a motivated Coach behind the bench especially saw him drawing the diagram to the players.

It looked like any period where we played good this year, good skating.

The goal against was also like any other goal this year.

Nothing has changed. Fire Carlyle.

9 compared to Montreal 16. It would look a lot different if the game was in Toronto.

Grabovski leads the leafs with TOI. Komisarek was solid first period. His icetime was over 6 minutes.

I wasn't paying the most attention but I felt like Lombardi bobbled a number of passes that period.

I don't really recall whether the passes weren't very good ones though, just something I sorta noticed.

If Ashton, Biggs, Ross were 2-3 years more advanced in their development, we could look like the Rangers this year. This is the style I envisioned when Burke took over. Just need more horses to play it.

They're in Montreal.

It's not surprising. The hit counter almost ALWAYS favors the home team.

Yup. Wilson showed very little emotion on the bench, and the team seemed to translate that onto the ice.

They came out with a lot more emotion, and Carlyle's vocal coaching style translated into saving Lupul's head.

I already gotta say Carlyle will be 1000x better than Wilson, even if his system turns out to be very similar, simply because of his style when behind the bench.

Its so nice to see actual coaching behind the bench. Not just talking but actually showing them on the coaching board.
