At the time, Burke said that the deal had been done earlier. But I don't recall ever hearing a specific date as Burke mentioned today.

I really thought that too. It would have been cruel to let Ron Wilson coach in the ACC. Every loss and a chant of Fire Wilson was going to go on, it was just not going to help the team or Wilson.

This move reminds me of Boston hiring Claude Julien after Dave Lewis, time will tell if The Leafs will be as successful.

Too little, too late. However, still a chance if the players buy in and play extremely motivated. Let's go. LOL

YES. Randy Carlyle is a LINE MATCH UP GUY. So no 4th line against Patrick Kane and Marian Hossa after they score 2 goals on them.

Hopefully Carlyle makes Connolly and Lombardi so uncomfortable they beg Burke to get them the hell out of Toronto.

Oh I agree, MLSE and Burke could by all means keep Eakins in the fold if they wanted to. Money isn't an issue but Burke just strikes me as a guy that, if a team approached him asking to talk to Eakins, he'd let them talk to him (granted not right now, but in the offseason).
