Lightning @ Canes, 7 p.m., RBCPNC Center; FS-CR
There wasn't a game day thread up yet, so what they heck. I apologize in advance if these are to be started by someone other than noobs.
vs.
The game airs on Fox Sports Carolina as well as 99.9 the FAN.
1.) Tampa Bay did not skate today, based on the fact that they had mechanical problems with their plane last night and, according to Forslund at the STH skate this morning, the flu is going around the TB locker room.
2.) Tonight is Cam Ward's 400th NHL game.
3.) Boychuck/Staal/Tlusty on the first line; the Chad returns to be paired with Skinner/Jokinen; Eh Stew reunites with the Oreo line.
4.) A rookie Stamkos borrowed a pen from Chip Alexander and
never gave it back . Will Chip seek restitution tonight?
5.) It is Eric Staal wall cling night. I have not heard the over/under on how many Jeff Skinner has requested in lieu of game tickets.
6.) TB is on the hunt for their fourth straight victory.
7.) The Captain has a 9-game points streak going.
8.) ZOMG, Mike Commodore!
edit: Sounds like Mathieu Garon is in net tonight for the Bolts.

I think it's time for a win tonight. Preferably by the Canes.

4-3 overtime loss. Chad with a -3. Faulk, Stewart, Sutter with the goals. Staal continues point streak with phantom secondary assist on Faulk goal.

Bolts played last night and arrived way late with a flu running rampant and their backup (?) is starting. Absolutely no excuse not to win this by a few goals.
Also, Staal's streak is at 10. He can tie the Carolina record (his own, set last year) with a point.

Just win the game. Preferably by 2 or more goals.

Seems like it's gonna be a packed house tonight. Looking on Stubhub and Ebay, there aren't many tickets left to have.

That sounds like the kind of game we'd lose. Plus, we have a history of making Tampa backups look amazing. Montreal should beat the Leafs tonight and I have a bad feeling about us so at least the positive is we'd be back in 15th in the east.

It's amazing how our star center can reach a 10 game point streak (Scoring 2-3 in many of those) and still be on pace for 70 points.
Anyways, will probably just be checking the score every once in a while cuz of Duke-UNC.

I got my James Worthy jersey on
Anyway, this game will be 5-2, just not sure for which team tho :/
Let's go 'Canes. My friend just returned from Florida and while at the game Thunder Bug tried to pick up his wife, so let's get revenge

Also since it hasn't been mentioned yet - Tim Peel reffing tonight. So look for a close game that winds up as a screwjob.

Wallace gets his first NHL goal. Seems like we're good at giving those up to n00bs.

The Islanders waived him. Let that sink in.
Great shift from Tlusty. Keep the zone, get it deep to Staal, crash through the havoc that Boychuk is making and get a great scoring chance.
And draws a high stick that Tim Peel promptly ignores (Tripp says Tim Peel missed it because he is nervous).

If by "nervous" he means "a terrible referee who needs to hang up his skates and find a new line of work," then yes, Tim Peel is VERY nervous.

Does anyone else think LaRose would look amazing on Detroit?
