Wow, that is the best bio out there for Ron Stewart? That's too bad. It is ok, but there is definitely more info out there. My book collection was still fairly small when I made mine.

Why "sorry seventieslord"? I am confused.

Thanks, I am now under that impression as well, he was a cornerstone in the NHA, a team actually recruited him after they beat him in a playoff series! I've found some very convincing information on him, almost as impressive as what I found on a goalie I drafted in a lower draft last year.

It's the top-scoring system he mostly dislike (I think). Since Ron Stewart doesn't have any to speak of, I'm sure 70's will be able to sleep well tonight!

Yeah, there is nothing wrong with that one.

Actually, the guys you drafted on the blueline aren't guys that can really have garbage stats posted for them (like insignificant playoff totals)

The one exception is Taffy Abel, whose one goal in one playoff was probably 2nd among defensemen, and same with his one assist another year, but thankfully you resisted pointing that out.

*AAA

and not that he was better, just that I found information on a player who was initially perceived as a goaltender of lesser value, but I think I somewhat proved he was superior to what most people saw him as.

I don't think Abel is slow in the ATD, but by the time the Production Line was put together, he was a slug.

I don't think Keats' defense will be useful as a backchecker because of speed. In the offensive zone, his physical play will be very useful but I see Lindsay as the one effective back checker on the line.

(Kariya-Rucchin-Selanne was also a line with a slow power center as the defensive conscience in transition. I like the look of Lindsay-Keats-Selanne because it sort of mimics the set up of the lines that Lindsay and Selanne both had their most success on, though with varying quality of linemates of course (Lindsay gets worse ones; Selanne gets better ones)
I understand what you are saying. If Lindsay/Selanne cough up the puck in transition, Keats will be useful in stopping the counterattack. Yes, I agree. My question is: was Lindsay particularly good defensively?

I'd like to think so. I can't guarantee the values I use for leagues are spot-on, but I put a lot of work into it. I don't even simply 1.00 for the NHL (or whatever the top league is at the particular time), instead recognizing that the relative quality of the top league can vary from year to year, especially in this era.

The system I'm using considers both a player's single best season, as well as a player's best five seasons, in calculating the rating. It's not all career totals.

it is now JFA's pick, and i have sent him a PM.

Kazan selects a favorite LW Bob Davidson.

in this post in the dirt thread i posted 2 examples of fans in montreal grabbing davidson. once he was pulled off the ice and into the stands, and once his stick was stolen by fans.

Davidson also served as TML's captain when Apps was in WW2 (and for TML's '45 cup), and after retirement he became famous again as a scout.
