I'd say we're clear of Calgary but with 2 games remaining they could make it interesting with 2 regulation wins. I'm not too worried about giving Calgary a point, but we're not out of the water yet. LA is still the biggest threat.
It's like someone dug up all that old footage of Jussi in the shootout and made Benn watch it. He's doing exactly the same thing and getting the exact same results. We were always saying he had to ditch that slow approach nonsense. How long can he keep this run going? Goalies will adjust eventually. For now it's a beautiful thing though.
And Loui... I'm never sure exactly what he's going to do but he usually makes it work. So smooth tonight, so calm. Throughout the game.
Got surprisingly nervous about this one as it went on. The win feels good.
I was thinking to myself that someone needs to steal all of that man's contraceptives 9 months before we plan on going on a playoff run, holy crap has he been good down the stretch here.
I think that this is the first game I've really been nervous about in about 3 months, and it feels really good.
Gulutzan did something that neither Tippett nor Crawford seemed to be capable of tonight. When that Ribs Ryder and Eriksson line couldn't win a faceoff he put Ott on it for a little bit and juggled some things here and there and it really worked in our favor.
Of course there's the powerplay, and the one man sabotaging crew that is Robidas, but at least it's something.
2nd longest GT today (longest by just Stars fans if you want to get technical about it).
Would be unbelievably huge to get two points against Vancouver. Not expecting anything but AHHH!!
I'd be over the moon if we got 1 point against Vancouver. Take it and run like a thief in the night. However, they could win it because this team, despite it all, is now playing way beyond my expectations. It is a joy (albeit heart stopping) to watch.
