You don't want to play a bruising team in the first round.
Well one could say that I'd rather have players injured in the 1st and 2nd round and healed for the last two, rather than the other way around. Of course those injuries do jeopardize your chances of getting through those rounds in the first place
SJ on the brink of being out of the playoff picture, yikes. Kind of hoping Calgary or Colorado and maybe Dallas make 8th spot if we get 1st in the West.

Reason: intra not cross :P
VAN vs calgary dallas or colorado - "easy" matchup for the nucks.
DET vs SJS - san jose has a good chance of knocking off the wings or at least softening them up.
PHX vs CHI - phoenix plays well against chicago, nucks play badly vs chicago, so phoenix beating chicago = good.
STL vs NSH - get one of these horrible teams out in the 1st round. also, I think canucks match up better vs st louis, so STL with home ice would give a better chance for them to win.

so the second round would be:
VAN vs SJS
PHX vs STL
then preferably
VAN vs PHX western conference final
I'll be really happy with a NSH/STL first round match-up for sure (a little more realistic).
Check out Stammer's GWG at the boxscore. Look at that PP set-up: the Bolts recognize Ward is playing too far out while the Canes' PK only has one man down low. So as Purcell controls the puck near the point, Marty loads up at the right slot while Stamkos sneaks down low at the other side.
Ward is ****ed because if he goes either way, Purcell will just pass it the opposite way because the PK is giving poor coverage. Ward winds up not moving to either side and Stamkos is given tons of net to shoot at, and he makes no mistake when he receives the puck.
I thought this set-up was sick, so yeah. I'm missing the Sedin magic...
Sigh... I wish one team in the nhl any team can just beat the crap out of the ****ing goons of those bruins players. Look how many fighting penalties already in this game in just 1 period...
