It's not just unwarranted. It's stupid and ignorant. Well, traditional HF

Biases. How can you be ******** about losing Brian Lee? Cool guy but we can move on, this is a business and players move around, every team is looking for the right recipe.

You know how fans of other teams say that Karlsson plays like a 4th forward and doesn't play defense.

That's how Gilroy has been playing since he's gotten here.
The guy needs to be coached and fit into a new system. He is coming from the Lightning and he was one of their best D-man defensively (their D is a lot worse than us, that's why they play a boring style most of the time)

Pinching to keep the puck in is great, and helps create offensive chances. Pinching, and getting caught deep, causing the other team to go the other way on your forward playing defense is playing with fire, especially if it happens multiple times a game.
That's the style of game the whole Senators organization is developping... You better get used to it or find a new teams to cheer for. They want to play a puck possession game with a high risk/high reward factor.

Yes. That coverage is for just in case scenarios when the defenseman misses the puck, or can't keep it in to prevent odd-man rushes the other way.

However, the ideal thing that happens is the defenseman keeps the puck in and gets back into position.

With Gilroy, he seems to get caught all the time, so the forward plays defense for him almost every time. This is playing with fire because forwards are not nearly as good as defenseman at skating backwards or defending against the rush, because well... they are forwards.

Turrible. Just Turrible.

Gotta say, I've not been impressed with this team the last 3 games.

Young teams are streaky, and that's to be expected with a rebuild. But tonight was simply unacceptable for a team that has playoff asperations.

They've been pretty bad lately. Hopefully this isn't the beginning of a prolonged losing streak. But yes, on to the next one. Hopefully they get their heads out of their *****.

Turris was the best player on the ice. Created scoring chances, hit the post. He did what he could.

clear message sent by Coach Paul there. Last minute of the game and the third line is out there.

Also, Butler has to go. Bring up Petersson/Hoffman I swear they can't be worse than this guy. Absolutely disgusting and he's playing on our TOP LINE.

Erik Karlsson has tremendous talent but he's immature. Shea weber will win the Norris trophy and he'll deserve it.

It's when we really need this team to perform that they come up short. Makes all that work to get us into a playoff sport worthless.

This team better wake the **** up soon or say goodbye to the playoffs, I hope they don't choke their way out of the playoffs.

Next 5 games won't be easy at TBL, NYR, BUF, at MTL, MTL.

I heard during the game that Dean Brown said Stache wanted Gilroy to be more involved in the offensive zone. This could attribute to him going deeper in the o-zone and getting caught more often than not.
