It's not to say I don't like him, I do, but he needs to start potting some goals and not hitting posts.
He is our youngest forward and was probably the best tonight out of those 4e got an assist

I don't care losing when the guys are playing hard for 60 minutes but when we only play 20 minutes a game then we have a problem.

Sens just got outworked after the 1st period and starting patting themselves on the back..credit to Florida wanted it more and took it..

I'm concerned about out secondary offensive scoring...as we rarely seem to get it...gotta win in TB to hold off TB, Buffalo, Washington, Toronto

Don't really care if he was our best tonight, that's not saying much of anything. He needs to start scoring goals, period. I'm not blaming him solely by any means, but he still needs to start doing even more, he needed to score on that wrister, not hit the post for the 800th time, it's supposed to be the best part of his game, he needs to cash in on it.

The thing with Turris is that he needs to (along with every single one of our forwards) start thinking shoot first, even if it means shooting for a rebound.

The guy is looking to pass first every time, and then shooting when that option is closed, which allows the opposition to take him away from good shooting positions.

This team was really good in the first period because they were swarming the net, and then shooting into the crowd for tips, screens and rebounds. This team is always really good when they do that, but the team as a whole is really fancy and looks too often for the pretty play.

Silfverberg/Michalek-Spezza-Zibanejad
Silfberberg/Michalek-Turris-Alfie
Greening-Foligno-Stone
Plug??-Smith-Neil

We also need to find a better 2nd pairing d man
Karlsson-Kuba/UFA
Phillips-UFA

I don't understand why people are hating on our secondary scoring after a game in which Cowen and Neil scored our only two goals.

He isnt here to lead the offense he is atleast a year away from that. Alfie needs to step it up before him

These are the growing pains a rebuilding team goes through

Because 2 goals didn't win us the game? I do not expect for them to score 5 goals but when the first line isn't clicking you need the 2nd to step up.

Hypothetical question: the team seems to be playing a different style right now, with the D men staying deeper and the team getting less shots overall. Possibly because of a need to play safer around Lehner?

Thoughts?

O'Brien had a good night tonight too, very impressed with him.

Never would of thought he would be better then K-Dog, Condra, Butler.

We lost to the Panthers. Had to happen someday. Sucks but that's a lesson for letting things down in the 2nd. Awful game from Spezza, Alfie, Michalek and Karlsson (our best players), they got 2 secondary goals in the 1st (and a 2-0 lead) but didn't take advantage of it.

Rookie mistake by Lehner on the 2nd goal, then bad penalties, serious lack of discipline. Also, our lines are messed up right now, need to find a much better fit

Sit Konopka and Butler for Smith and Daugavins to see

Foligno-Spezza-Michalek
Klinkhammer-Turris-Alfredsson
Greening-Smith-Neil
Daugavins-O'Brien-Condra

Dang I'd like to see Regin on Turris left right now

Thanks for the dose of reality. I guess I will never get used to it. Bipolar/fickle fans, always looking for a goat at the first glance of adversity, always whining for a bunch of meaningless things. I'm used to it, but I just can't accept it for some reason.

Fixed. Karlsson is already part of the elite. With this board's fans, it's Spezza/Karlsson/Alfredsson or nothing. Michalek is a grinder, Turris is a bust, Foligno is useless, Neil is overpaid, Fisher sucked, Kovalev was awful. I could go on.

You win with your best players and you lose with your best players. They're the guys responsible for leading the charge. Role players are just here to help.

"easy game" isn't a term that exists in today's NHL. If you ever say that to a NHLer, he would gladly explain it to you or just laugh.

I keep thinking back to that Neil penalty. We've been shooting ourselves in the foot for the past couple games.

I'm looking at him as a second line C on a team currently trying to make the playoffs, not as a youngin. I realise he needs to develop more, but if we want to win game's down this final stretch, he is going to have to be a deciding piece whether he's ready or not.

To me there's no before or after of stepping up, he needs to step it up, as does Alfie. They both do if we want to keep this ride going.

But its 2 stinkers of game, we just need to go out and beat Tampa Bay, and all will be well.

edit: Just one more point, it's amazing to see the difference between Lehner and Anderson on the ice in terms of moving the puck and communication, Anderson has been amazing for us in that regard.

Our second line did step up. The first goal was scored with Turris' line on the ice.

The Sens have been carried by Spezza and Karlsson all season. Obviously, if both of them play badly we'll have trouble winning hockey games. Our lineup is not good at all. There's a reason people expected us to finish 15th in the East. If our best players don't show up, we don't have a very good chance to win.
