What's wrong with the Sedins?

Less PP's which I think is so stupid. What is the NHL thinking? Don't they want to increase scoring? The Oilers haven't had a single PP in two straight games, I'm not sure I remember that ever happening before.

Maybe they're bored with dominating meaningless regular season awards...

Maybe they should show up for the playoffs. I blame the Sedins no-showing the playoffs last year for our failure.

For the Canucks it seems to have stemmed from the Boston game where we had 11 pps and the bruins 8. Since then pps have been Wayyy down.

Canucks had 2 straight games vs the hawks with no pps and one va Detroit . It's just weird .

It seems like it is a league directive . It's entirely league wide . The question is why would they do this ? Clutch and grab has come back in a big way.

One could be hurt and playing with an injury. If one is hurt it will affect both of them.

Could just be a slump. Everyone goes through them so why can't they?

Probably this.

If you can't give the benefit of the doubt to back-to-back trophy winners, I'm not sure who you can give it to.

Henrik has been one step behind lately (if one of them is injured, I'd definitely say Hank). At times, he just looks so slow out there.

Not just the west. Buffalo is playing like they did in front of Hasek at the moment. NYR has been relying on Lundy all season long. Bouchergate. Heck, even Carlyle in TO may see more deadpuck.

I think Henrik's foot is injured. He's been playing differently ever since he took a shot off of his skate a while ago.

He was bad before that too.

Funny thing is, Henrik still leads in points for west I think.

It's because of Bruce Boudreau's new defensive system.

Dominates a couple of lower end teams to pad the stats, doesn't show up in big games.

Schedule is part of it. We just came off a road trip with 5 games in 7 nights where we faced Nashville, New Jersey, Dallas and Phoenix and then had St. Louis at home. Pretty much the who's who of trap hockey. In the 5 games before the road trip, we had Phoenix, Minnesota and Nashville again, and we've got Dallas comming up on Tuesday, so don't expect a Picasso.

Prior to this we had the Leafs at home and Edmonton to start the road trip. In those 2 games the Sedins put up 12 points between them. The only other game in that stretch against a non-trapping team was Detroit where the Sedins got 2 points each.

A League wide decrease in penalties and an increase in interference, hooking and holding is also a part of the picture. It's not just the Sedins whose numbers are off this year, it's the entire Western Conference. There are only 5 players from the West in the top 20 in scoring and - 7 of the top 10 goalies in the league are in the West.

But even with all that, the Sedins performance since mid-January is a bit disappointing.

Sedins are not the guys to blame for last years failure
The Canucks as an org have been doing things the right way for awhile now
I like the Canucks chances this year a lot
Henrik v king henrik would be cool
In the end both sedins are ov berated. There was a thread that had a sedin twin as the best passer since Gretzky
That is insane

Off season the Sedona have a bit longer before they begin to decline

this is becoming a league wide trend, and i'm not liking it. Same thing is happening to the kids on the oilers....especially when they try and dump it in, defensemen just literally hold them up.

Im not sure who it was against, but there was a game where one defensmen literally bear hugged hall and dragged him down, no call.....i couldn't believe there was no call.

Haha okay we get it, you don't like the Sedins, despite the fact that it has been with Daniel and Henrik Sedin leading them that the Canucks have enjoyed the best spell in franchise history.

President's Trophy (possibly back-to-back) and a game 7 Stanley Cup finals appearance? Yea, the Sedin's just aren't that good. The Canucks could have easily accomplished that without their 200+ combined points...

No coincidence that the Sedins' two best years were the same years that Ehrhoff was on this team. Edler, Salo, Bieksa and Hamhuis are slow as **** compared to Ehrhoff and they're the best offensive defensemen we have. Sedins thrived off of Ehrhoff's ability to bring the puck up ice, his ability to hold the line on the powerplay and all of his offensive skills. Hell, the top 4 misses him just as much as the Sedins do.. they may be racking up points but they expend so much of their energy replacing what Ehrhoff brought that their own defensive games have taken quite a dip. Really.. nobody misses Ehrhoff more than Edler's defensive game.

The Canucks are possibly missing Ehrhoff this moment.
