OK, I know its been a while guys....but we need to come up with some cool playoff avatars. I'm not worried about jinxing anything. The Blues need literally like 2-3 more points all season to qualify for the playoffs, so its just a matter of what seed now.
I freely admit, I have no skills for these types of graphic manipulations.
Here's what I'm looking for:
1) volunteers to help create cool themed avatars for the board for the playoffs.
2) some brainstorming of sweet ideas. Last time we used Super Mario Bros, and it was pretty funny. I'd prefer funny to "cool" myself.
My first idea: I kind of really like the Admiral Akbar / trap thing. I'm thinking if we did Star Wars: Return of the Blues there is a ton of material there. Colaiacovo is definitely C3PO for example (the scene in Empire Strikes back where his arms and legs are off with Carlo's face would be a winner).

I've never seen Star Wars so I'm no help here, but a Star Wars theme would be okay with me... I would just rather not focus too much on the trap/dead puck/Blues are boring theme. I know a ton of people say that about the Blues but I think it's kind of beating a dead horse (and I know I say that with a trap icon, haha). But if that's what people want to go with, I'm down.

But Star Wars I was the best Star Wars movie ever.
Star Wars or Superheroes would be great. The Sharks have a lot of star wars related ones already. Not sure if we have any Marvel Comics kind of fans yet.

How about someone take Blues pics and make them Zombies with a returning from the dead theme?
That exact same thing crossed my mind, but I remember Rangers fans doing a "zombie" theme a couple seasons ago so we might wanna go with something more original. I dunno...if we maybe expanded it to include characters from specific zombie movies (like Ash from The Evil Dead) or horror movie villians who just keep coming back (Jason, Freddy, etc.) I'd be on board.
Is there a superhero that is kind of weak and doesn't really do anything but takes credit for things he didn't do? That'd be Colaiacovo.
If the Sharks board has Star Wars themed avatars already, maybe we shouldn't go that route. Especially since theirs are so well made.

Vanilla = the style of play of the Blues, boring, trap, etc. Ice = one of the ways the Blues manipulate games to sneak in wins. lol I doubt a lot of people would want Vanilla Ice avatars but it's just an idea. I think we can get creative with the "boring" theme if we brainstorm.

I'd be willing to do the graphics if needed. I know I'm new here, and I don't post a lot but I work with photoshop quite a bit and have done a few avatars and a couple of GDTs.
One thought I had was if the Star Wars theme was used - we could give the whole "trap" / "play boring" gib the look of the Star Wars opening crawl text style. You know the one that starts large, scrolls up and fades into the distance. Then show the character avatar.
That said, I think Ryan Reaves as The Thing or Hulk would be insanely cool. Superheros would be my vote.
