The Phoenix Coyotes have had a busy day, making 2 large deals and 1 minor deal.
We'd like to welcome Dustin Brown, Dustin Penner, Evgeny Kuznetsov, Braden Holtby, and Chris VandeVelde to the Coyotes organization!
Also, I'd like to thank Oliver Ekman-Larsson, David Rundblad, Viktor Tikhonov, Mikkel Boedker, Gilbert Brule, and Philip Lane for your time with the team.
Changes have been made, but we're still open to make some deals, as noone is unavailable. For those teams looking to make a UFA swap, I am listening to deals involving Doan and Langkow

Hearing Garth Snow is looking to shore up his defense, expect some movement there. Possibility his lottery pick is in play.

I'd just like to announce that I'm not going to restrict any overseas players from coming over.
Kuznetsov, Radulov, etc will all come over.

Isles Making Their Move
The New York Islanders have made a statement: It's time to win now.
It would seem the club, and it's GM Garth "ThePerfectStorm" Snow, have ended their rebuilding phase. In what has become a historic day for the franchise, Snow has made two blockbuster deals that will dramatically change the outlook of the team moving forward.
In the first move, the Islanders and Penguins hooked up on a six player mega-deal seeing the Islanders acquire center Jordan Staal, veteran defenseman Paul Martin, prospect Simon Despres and a second round draft pick in the 2012 draft. In return, the Islanders sent Mark Streit, Michael Grabner, and Josh Bailey to the Penguins.
The second deal of the day, an equally awe inspiring piece, saw Snow pick up super skilled defenseman Keith Yandle from Phoenix in exchange for the Isles 5th overall pick in 2012 and prospect Calvin de Haan. Joining Yandle in New York will be Russian defender Maxim Goncharov.
"First and foremost, we would like to thank the players leaving New York today. These players are classy guys, and they represented our jersey well when they wore it. We are also very, very excited to welcome the new players joining our organization today. We feel these individuals will make us stronger as a hockey team, and help push us towards the ultimate goal of winning a Stanley Cup," said the GM. "We have been stockpiling assets for a few years now, and felt this was the right time, the right opportunity, to cash in some of those chips. We wanted to show our players that we are committed to winning, and I think we did that today."
When asked about the shock value of the deals, Snow smiled "Yeah, big moves for sure. You have to give to get in this business. We had a plan, some areas to improve, but I don't know if I even saw this coming when I woke up today."
All in all, nine players and two draft picks changed hands today, and the Islanders GM says he will continue trying to make his team better, but said he's "probably going to take the rest of the night off". The team is said to be negotiating with a few key players, and hopes to have them locked up before free agency opens July 1st.
The Deals NYI - PIT
Jordan Staal, Paul Martin, Simon Despres, PIT 2nd Rd Pick 2012
Mark Streit, Michael Grabner, Josh Bailey
NYI - PHX
Keith Yandle, Maxim Goncharov
NYI 1st Rd Pick 2012, Calvin de Haan

Trade
4th pick + Allen(rights)
to
Orlov + Galiev + 13th
when asked why Carolina traded down Jim "Dixs35" Rutherford stated "We have enough D prospects in the system, I want someone who could play now not years down the road. The pick and Galiev were just icing on the cake."

Washington has been very active, and feels the additions they've made set them up to be an elite team for years to come.
Tradeable assets still on the table include...
12th overall pick
Mike Green
Roman Hamrlik
Marcus Johansson
In order to keep things slightly realistic, I don't intend to trade any roster players that I've acquired in the last 24 hours.
I'm still hoping to land a power forward.
