Danton charged with 83 more months

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp...60&hubName=nhl

He's got a total of 90 months to be done, and has completed 7 already. I find this totally fair, and we don't need someone like this on the ice. Whose to say his temper wouldn't fly off at another player? or even an official? Good riddance to bad rubbish

Joey, I have no problem with the sentence but there's always a lot more to the story. Read up on it, there's some good lessons for hockey parents and trust.

Not unfair, but definitely long enough....I would have expected less of a sentence.

we'll have to see how much of the sentence he actually has to serve...

it's unfortunate when something like this happens and i hope he gets the help he needs in the future

Oh I know exactly what you're saying. I didn't mean what I said to sound like he's just a random psychopath or anything. All I meant was, it's different to be in the heat of the moment [even if the moment is as long as it was] and wish someone dead, and actually trying to go through with making him dead. That extra step from wishing harm to planning murder is a step that isn't healthy or too safe at all, and I just think that with murderous feelings bottled up, who's to say that a large amount of anger couldn't be released after a bad check or unmerited trip towards him?

Please post the URL to the article that states he'll be eligible for parole. I highly doubt that the American government would agree to transfer Danton to a Canadian prison if he were eligible for parole. If so, then they are stupid. Heck, we as Canadians are stupid for allowing this transfer. I personally don't want my taxpayer dollars spent on Danton's incarceration in Canada. The guy committed a felony in America; he should spend his prison time there.

...but will he still get a stiff 3 game suspension from the league? Maybe he and Todd B. can spend some quality jail time together.
