Has anyone else considered how Reimer would do under Carlyle's new system?
Reimer should do better because the blocking style will always work better when opponents don't have the time and space to pick corners. In fact all our goalies should do better because Allaire's style fits Carlyle's.
Now for the weak softies both goalies have been letting in....I'm afraid those are purely on our goalies, not Allaire, and not Wilson. No one is coaching them to let in 5 holes or deflect shots going wide into our own net.
Carlyle won't stop those from happening either. It's up to the goalies to focus, battle, and make the saves they should make. Carlyle's system should reduce the number of situations where miraculous saves would be needed.

Hopefully the new mask will bring him some luck. And if the team can really commit and buy into Carlyle's system sooner rather than later, that should possibly help him out as well.
I think it looks bad, way too busy. If a kid can't draw that mask on a doodle, it's no good. I prefer Scrivens' simple graphics and predominantly white mask to go along with his pads from an aesthetic point of view, but is still better than the nasty blue one he wore last game against Pittsburgh.
Reimer has a new mask, hasn't been revealed yet, so it might look better than Scrivens
Yeah I didn't look at the date of the original post... the current one with the center stripe is kinda gross. Hopefully he goes for something simple and iconic, the way Luongo and Price have approached their masks this year:
IMO, Gustavsson has the nicest mask I've seen in a while.
Since Cujo in my opinion, I really like the monster themes on masks, or ones that have one style, not a clutter of images.
I remember there was a goalie in tampa that had a skull exploding, with the top being all pink (for the brain), I loved that design, it wasn't as graphic as I might make it sound, i think the actual goalie never stayed long though.
EDIT: It was Karri Ramo, he's doing well in the KHL, I liked watching the really pink helmet though.
