Good to know we're not getting swept this weekend. Oh, and just like in hockey, LA fans invaded Anaheim today (loud cheers for Dodger hits, loud booes for any bad call against the Dodgers).

Ethier went down with a strained oblique, this is getting brutal.

Well, ****. I hope the Galaxy can avenge the sweep tonight in San Jo.

EDIT: I meant on Saturday.

Dodgers need to trade for a bat, like tonight.

Time for the new management to make their first big decision?

Dodgers have too many holes to fill and not enough prospects. They need to promote from within and hold on to the few good prospects they have.

Stan Kasten was on Dodger Talk earlier. Of course, he couldn't talk about players that he wants to trade for since it's against the rules. But mainly, he said he's focused on rebuilding the minor league system. There's a lack of talent in the minors. The Dodgers haven't produced a superstar outside of Kemp since Mike Piazza.

Ethier is the only hitter on the Dodgers that would start for contending teams. I'd like to keep Dee since he's still a youngster. But other than those two, the rest of the lineup is full of journeymen and washed-up former stars. AJ Ellis is slowly coming back down to earth but I'm not worried about him since he's a catcher.

First big move should be firing that Giant lover Colletti.

You know, it could be worse. Phillies getting Utley back for the first time all season, decide to use the bullpen as a starter (one of the worst in baseball). Haha, what a great idea.

At least the Dodgers are still in first. Still possibilities before the trade deadline.

I keep hoping Loney will come around but its time to cut bait. At least give Sands or Van Slyke a shot.

It's true. Dodgers haven't done a true rebuild in forever, really.

Dodgers sign Cuban player to 7 years 42 million dollar contract

from what I read he should be able to step into the big club by the end of summer

They have some good prospects. Just not enough who are MLB ready right now.

Van Slyke, Herrera, De Jesus, Castellanos, Sands, Sellers, Eovaldi, Tolleson, Ethan Martin...Gordon is still young, so are Jansen, Guerra...

What they need right now is to move on from the Abreus, Uribes, and Riveras of the world....and get a real bat to fill the 4-5 slot.

Something young and long term.

Also, for the love of god the Loney experiment has to be over. The guy is great defensively but he couldn't hit if he was thrown a beach ball.

I'm not at all worried about the future of the Dodgers. They have plenty of youth. I am worried about right now.

The pitching looks fine but they are just a seriously weak hitting lineup with very little speed on the paths with guys like Rivera, Abreu, Loney and Uribe in the lineup. If you can't hit for **** you got to be able to run. Aside from Gordon, Gwynn and Herrera the Dodgers have zero speed.

The only real prospects they have are Zach Lee, Chris Reed, Withrow and maybe Martin. Only Lee cracks baseball america's top 75 prospects. The only position players they have that are interesting are all 25 years old and dominating in a hitters paradise.

Whoever scores the first run for the Dodgers deserves an A-Rod-type contract.

And I agree with No Name. We have no position players that are true youngsters. The Dodgers need to move their AAA team to California. Querque is not a good place to develop hitters.

I think I feel ya No Name. We have players in the system, but nothing close to the likes of a TOP prospect...like developing the next Kemp.

I cry for Capuano. Guy pitches another fantastic game and gets an L for it.

Easily our best pitcher all year. You know he wanted this one against his old team.

It's just ****ing sad that the Dodgers can't call a young stud up that they have to settle for Jerry Hairston batting 3rd.

This is a painful ****ing lineup to watch bat

Gordon
Herrera
Hariston
Rivera
Ellis
Uribe
Van Slyke
Gwynn

le sigh. Ellis leads the team with 6 home runs...
