Height and weight per team clarified

Found this interesting spreadsheet (is that what you call them)?

Looks like Montreal is, the shortest team and bottom in terms of weight. Thought I'd share (the spreadsheet, not the observation).

However I don't know if this is before the trades (including Bourque).

These are old stats. And we are about even with Detroit and Boston.
Not bad company eh ?

This seems pretty random.

WSH is the fatest organisations with Ovechkin
and the habs are the smallest with Desharnais

We need to get bigger. We have done some progress this year, yet we need to get bigger at center and on defense and on the wings... well everywhere!!! But getting bigger at center will come at the draft.

I also feel they're taking steps to get bigger. Just surprised it took so long.

Yeah, but players like Bourque are living proof that it's about a mix of characteristics that make a good hockey player. He's big, can score, but he wouldn't be on any team I was putting together.

QFT. After Subban and Emelin it's pathetic. Even a guy like Gorges who is North American and not really small and looks jacked without a shirt (no homo) gets manhandled too easily for my liking. Kaberle, Campoli, Weber and Diaz are jokes though.

Problem with those guys (except maybe Kaberle, if you look solely at points), is that they're pegged as more offensive D, who don't really drive any offense. Weber who is supposed to be a PP specialist hasn't wowed anybody this year. If they were making cases for themselves in the offense department, I could understand wanting to keep them. At this point. I'd be ready to trade Diaz and Weber for equivalent value in shut down D.

And I know that this is a topic about size, I think Gorges and Subban are roughly the same size (not very big), but are still VERY effective defensively. We need some tougher customers on D to get guys out of Carey's way and to clear the crease. Would be nice to have some guys to control the post-whistle shenanigans too. Not necessarily fighters, but I think people underestimate the effect of a face wash when you get one 15 times a game .

Good point. Not sure if montreal has their 2nd rounder this year, but defensive dmen should be available in the 2nd round. I thought Lee would've been a god fit in montreal, as a bottom pairing d-man.Obviously not a game changer, but a piece that would've fit in nicely where he'd be slotted.

Damn i guess 1 inch separates us from being the Red Wings. Hope Desharnais has a growth spurt so we can be a contender...

Habs should try to sign Allen in the summer, or perhaps if SJ fail this years they will make alot of players available and Doug Murray could be had.
