NEWS & NOTES

QUOTES TO NOTE

They had a lot of momentum there, but we came up big on the PK and then came up big on the PP when we had the chance.
Down 2-0 on the road to a desperate hockey team, but we didn't cave in. We've done it all year long.
- Ryan Callahan

Coming in late last night, we could have had lots of excuses, but the guys stepped up and played the right way.
We did a lot of good things, and even when we were down we didn't get frustrated.
- Henrik Lundqvist

It was a good game for us and where we're at as a team right now to come back. We just regrouped and played our game.
- John Tortorella

C'mon boys, how can you resist a possible 7 point lead after this one with four games to go?

Got a good feeling about this game especially against a team with a lame duck coach and is in upheaval(sp?) at the moment.

Rangers win 4-1 with Gaborik and Boyle continuing there hot play and I think Girardi scores with an EN by Hagelin.

The Rangers need to win this one. This is the last weak team we have on the schedule. We have Pitts, Philly, Boston coming up. Need to make sure we take the 2 points from Montreal.

2 points against Habs would be huge. We always struggle to beat them.

Dont start Biron...please. Start Hank and lets go for the kill in terms of winning the #1 seed.

You don't think Hank should get a rest for Boston, Philly, Pittsburgh?

My sister won tickets to this game. Sadly I will not be attending either the game or tonight's GDT.

Sob stories aside, LGR!

Potential 7 point spread, 1 point above St. Louis, magic number for conference reduced to 3 and 1st place in the NHL...

Get it done.

I never feel comfortable playing these guys. The Habs are in disarray and at their lowest low in decades, so can we please pull out a win against these losers?

This team gives us fits, but we're decent against them at home. If we lose to them in regulation we'd have the worst record against any eastern team, against them, and they're like the worst team in the east. Right now our worst record is 1-2-1 against Ottawa. Let's make it 2-2. It'll be impressive if in our worst record against the east we go 1 game under .500. Anyway, finish this up and we finish our off month, I believe 10-6-1. Not bad for an off month. That's a 101 point pace. In other words better than any season post lockout, but this one.

Edit: Forgot that we can still go 2-4 against Pittsburgh. Oh well. Still impressive. If we beat Montreal we'd have beaten every single eastern team at least twice, but Ottawa.

Hank on Michael Kay show yesterday said he asked Benoite Allaire for more game action to get sharper for playoffs...we always have trouble with habs and this is a big 2 points...

Would really like some sort of winning streak heading into the playoffs...gotta keep rolling and get some positive momentum on our side.

Two points here would be HUGE in the race for first, still won't count the Pens out until there's a 'Y' next to the Rangers name in the standings.

MTL always plays us tough, can't go in there lollygagging because their team is absolutely dysfunctional right now.

That could be the most laughable line up in the league and this still will be a tough game for us.

Stop their top line (Desharnais-Cole-Pacioretty) and we'll win easily, with or without Hank in net.

Torts wants to end this. Rangers win tonight. Pitt loses one of their next 2. Rangers can clinch on Sunday. Marty plays 1-2 of the 3 games next week.
