I racked up a lot of amazon gift cards recently, that's the only thing that made the price tolerable for me to preorder it. It was so much cooler when PC games were cheaper than consoles.
Heh, I actually used a gift card too but still... I could've used it on something more practical and important.
I am totally not ready for the midterm tomorrow but **** it, going to sleep.
Feel free to buy it and then repost your "referral" link so that you might get it free or something. I don't really plan to go, so I just posted the link from my e-mail because I thought you guys might be interested.
The way ME3 is doing it, if you buy the standard edition you are getting an incomplete game. IMO if the developer has something available for download on the release date it should be considered a part of the original game and not subject to extras. Traditionally, buying a CE version meant it came with a DVD extra and/or some sort of collectible. Whatever EA, my rant is over now take my money.
The reason that they are is because they are developed separately and budgeted separately. With the streamlined process of game development with concept -> asset creation -> implementation resembling more of an assembly line than it used to be, it's easy to shift resources over to something like DLC that is intended to be shipped on Day 1, long before the ship date is even announced. Most games are completed a month or two before the ship date, and many resources are shifted over to Day 1 DLC in order to get it ready on time.
Many people have a really bad misconception that this stuff is created, cut out and sold separately, and that's not the way that it works at all.
I don't disagree with you that Day 1 DLC can suck, especially when they don't offer much of a pre-order incentive towards it, but is it really any different than them waiting for a month to release something that is nothing more than a squadmate?
Hah I sleep through those as well. No I meant the 4.0. It definitely felt a lot stronger than a 4 though, enough to wake me up. Usually nothing wakes me up. I've had a car basically blow up across the street from my room and I never woke up for that lol.
Going to Spain for 11 days with my Grad class starting on the 8th. Anyone know anything fun to do in Madrid?
If it's still there, the Flamenco Ballet version of Carmen was great when I was there (last August). The Royal Palace was pretty interesting as well, the royal pharmacy and armory are the main attractions. And the obvious things like the botanical gardens, the reina sofia and the prado museum. The Prado actually had an incredibly exhibit focused on the "Black Paintings" by Goya (again, not sure if it's still around, seemed like it might be a traveling exhibit).
Don't watch the show, so the spoilers didn't matter to me, but for future reference, HF does have spoiler tags.

Any time you want to discuss the plot of something current, it's probably for the best to use these, just to be safe.

My son (the college student) hasn't watched Sunday's episode yet. I'm dying to talk to him about it but will have to wait.
I scare the heck out of my dogs yelling at the TV during the Shark games. Last night during "The Walking Dead" my poor Roxy kept coming over to see what was wrong with me..."Look OUT!!!" "RUN!!!" "What are you thinking?!!!" "NOOOOOOOOO!!!!"
