Speaking of Turris and rockbottom he has 4pts in his last 14GP. 1 goal in that time. This from a player in topsix rotation, 17mins/night, and 2mins/night on PP.
Right now MPS is better option than Turris. Kyle's career is quickly going south. Really bad move grandstanding like he did in Phoenix, refusing to play there, and then not being able to deliver on the team that saves him.
Can't imagine many clubs would still be interested in this player.
You don't pull what he did unless you have supreme confidence in rebounding and showing your worth elsewhere.
Still only 22, plays solid defense, sat out the start of the year, is brilliant when on and still "ok" when not. Sens have only been .500 over that same stretch of 14 games as well. Turris was simply dominant in games earlier on in the year and with a full offseason and a fresh start in 2012-2013 I would expect him to be good for an even longer stretch next year.

It'll be interesting to see how he does next year.

Gagners still 22, and has several times more NHL pts than Turris.
Solid defense? Where you getting this from. He's playing with Alfredsson a lot who'd done everything for him.
Dominant? Brilliant? I must've missed the handful of games Turris was dominant in. Hell he has 18pts all season last I checked. This is south of Omark type numbers. For a player that brings very little else and a questionable attitude.
Exactly he can't be lost on waivers. Once the season is over he can be assigned to OKC since he's on the clear day roster.
I think if he plays 4 games he would still have to clear regardless of he is on the clear day? I bet its moot anyways because I could see him play 3 and then get sent down, much to the chagrin of a lot of people on this board. I could be wrong on it, he might not have to clear.

So we give him 3 games to succed,if not flush him down? He stays for the rest of the season for a decent evaluation , then he goes down to the barons playoff without needing to clear waivers. If hes awful out there , we can scratch him for the remaining games.

I was referring to if he had to clear I could see them sending him down to assure that he would be in the playoffs.
If Renney lets Omark get lots of ice and tries him in every possible area, the Omark debate will be over and we can put this to rest. Omark has skills and we need to see what he bring to the rink
Maybee from your point of view as an baronfan! But omark needs a good look at from the oilers,if hes a keeper or not. Send him down only so he could play the playoffs make no sence, because then we have a player who have his thoughts in khl or elsewhere and nothing in return if traded in the summer.

Sincerely doubt he'll go to the KHL in the summer. He could come back, and he either makes the team next year, get traded, or goes on waivers where someone else will pick him up. He'll get his chance next year, no question(whether it's with the oilers or not remains to be seen) so he might as well stick it out. If he clears waivers then he can go over to the KHL. I don't see him leaving without exahusting his NHL chances though.

Why would they give him a chance next year?this is a perfect chance to see if he got it,nothing to lose if he fail then we got nail(probably without him). next year we cant try out players, we must aiming high and it doesnt get easier to take a spot in a young talent roster.

Ultimately I agree. It just seems that the Oil organization is all about wanting to give OKC the best chance at a cup, and that chance is better with Omark in the line-up.
That would be real crappy if they sent him back down after only three games. What kind of evaluation would that be ? I can see it happening no matter how he plays. Ugh....

Once the Oilers season is over there is no longer a waiver issue.
“Of course I want to play a lot, but I’m happy to be here and I need to do my best to get the opportunity to play more. Even if I play five minutes, I have to do my best and try to do something to get up to big minutes.”
On his future with the Oilers:
“I’m not quitting.
“All I can do now is prove that I can play in his league. What’s happened is in the past. I want to play with the Oilers. I love it here. I like my teammates. It’s a good organization, but I do want to play in the NHL.”

What's the ambiguity? He's saying that all that really matters is what he does now. He's not focused on his past results, being sent down, being injured; he knows he has to prove he belongs in the NHL right now and he's going to try to do that.

Theres no ambiguity.
But what was in the past? What happened? Whats the suggestion there?
Its as if to connote that something in the past wasn't quite up to par, that there problems, disagreements.
Not saying there is but what a weird thing to state.
Sounds like something a scorned ex gf would say before walking off in a huff again.
Omark + Smyth + Horcoff + Gagner = SLOWWWWWW
Speed and/or size is the key to success in the NHL. These guys are anchors made of styrofoam. Omark and Smyth must be two of the slowest forwards in the game.

Speed is probably my biggest concern with Omark's ability to become a regular NHLer. If he had Marty St Louis's wheels, then I might believe it when people compare Omark to him. I'm really rooting for the kid, but it's definitely a weakness.
