So here's my question should we even expect anything from him? Didn't he just play 3 games in a row?
This. Last time we called up Hartikained he had played like 4 games in 5-6 days and he looked run down when he played here. Omark will be playing in his 4th game in 4 days...
Why the hell do they play 3 games in 3 nights in the AHL? Is it literally just to increase attendance as Fri-Sun generate better attendances?
Yes, and travel. You'll see two games in the same city back to back fairly often. Or two games against the Texas Stars on a Thursday Friday, then Saturday in San Antonio.
As glad as I'm sure Omark is to get another shot, the timing sucks for him. He just played three games in three different cities (scored the only OKC goal last night in Chicago). If he goes tonight, that'll be his fourth game in four nights in four cities. Yeesh.
Pretty much exactly the same situation as Harski during his brief call ups. Teemu wrote a blog post about it after the fact, and for both call ups he was completely gassed. Which anyone watching could see.
Also, I hope they don't play Omark in Hall's position on the left wing. I still remember what that looked like from when they tried it out against the Flames early in the season.
Despite my reservations, I wish the kid luck. It's a good call to bring him up . The organization has to make a decision about this player an they need to see him play some games against NHL competition.
Ya it's not the best position for him to be in that's for sure, but with that being said you have to take what you can get.
give him top 6 minutes, top pp time - a legit chance to succeed in an offensive role.
Powerplay time.... yes, I remember now.... there used to be such a thing, wasn't there? I seem to recall it fondly, but can barely envision it... like some long forgotten memory from childhood.
Hopefully he can add something to the offense. I suspect we'll see him on a line with Gagner and Hemsky. Then load up a line with Hall-RNH-Eberle. That's what I'd do.

Yup. Huge gut check moment for the kid. This is his big shot this year, and honestly, he's got to do something with it. No excuses. If he can play a solid game tonight and tomorrow and create offence without giving up much, and do it on an empty tank, well, it should go a long way toward answering the question marks this organization has about him.
I love the built in proactive excuses. Do well up here and no one will mention it further. Struggle and its already in place as a reason.
3 of the locations on the map don't even involve much travel. Peoria, Grand Rapids, Chicago would be less travel than AJHL clubs encounter. LA to SF is a short hop as well. Also pretty sure the team had a longbreak before the Peoria game.(so I'm not sure why "A" is listed on the map as travel. Did they travel to the Peoria game at the last minute?) Plus what better place to fly from than Chicago which would have a hell of a lot of connecting flights.
Lets be frank here. Any player that gets a callup is jacked. Fatigue is seldom really an issue in the first couple games up. Especially for a younger player.
Ridiculous schedule for a player to play, with a full travel day as well. He'll play like crap probably and be banished.
Yeah, this is my worry. Awful asset management like during Harski's two go-rounds and next thing you know you have an exhausted player who can't keep up and a narrow minded fanbase that wants to flush him.
Edit: You know, I actually wouldn't be too upset if Omark saw the fourth line for these two games. His minutes will be reduced and he can ease his way back into NHL hockey with some PP minutes.

I would be okay with no offense as long as it meant no turnovers. I'm not expecting that much given what he has gone through, but I'd like to see less of the bad at the very least.

Peoria was like 6 hours of travel or something. Maybe not horrible, but no exactly easy.
Travel aside. 4 games in 4 nights is a lot.
I'd almost sit him tonight just to give him rest and play him tomorrow.
