Good win. That hit on Jake was devastating; first inclination is that should be a suspension.

The stats line looks good for Bryz; haven't watched the game yet, but the save on Filppula was outstanding in the final minute.

Voracek did have his head down. The problem I have is Kronwall had time to take a different route and deliver a hit. instead he chose to drive the forearm right into Voracek's face.
As its been said already, its a lack of respect thing. This has nothing to do with "taking hitting out of the game" I love big hits as much as anyone else does. I didnt like this one at all. In the end I doubt Kronwall gets even a warning.

I had zero problem with that hit. If that is a suspension, something is wrong with the NHL.

Worst 3rd period in a while.

Garbage on faceoffs.

Another solid effort by Bryz.

Did he go after Kronwall after the game?

Considering he gets unwarranted minors, who knows what the misconduct was for? Probably nothing.

48.1 Illegal Check to the Head – A hit resulting in contact with an opponent's head where the head is targeted and the principal point of contact is not permitted. However, in determining whether such a hit should have been permitted, the circumstances of the hit, including whether the opponent put himself in a vulnerable position immediately prior to or simultaneously with the hit or the head contact on an otherwise legal body check was avoidable, can be considered.

1. Was it a hit resulting in contact with an opponent's head where the head is targeted and is principal point of contact?

Yes.

2. Did Voracek put himself in a vulnerable position immediately prior to the hit?

No. Voracek was in a vulnerable position far prior to the head check.

3. Was contact to the head avoidable?

I believe so, because Kronwall premeditated a hit on a defenseless player.

Good to see Bryzgalov steal another game for us. Talbot was our best skater imo. Strong defensive game from him, he was great on the pk. Overall it was a pretty solid effort defensively. We blocked a lot of shots, and made it hard for Detroit to get to the rebounds. Kudos to Hartnell for posting pretty solid faceoff numbers. Hopefully Jagr and Voracek won't be out for too long, we don't really need any more injuries right now. I can live with Shelley-Holmstrom-Rinaldo as our fourth line for a game or two, but I don't want to see it too often.

Even if it's a stupid hit by Kronwall, there's not much reason for him to aim that high in that situation, Voracek has to play that better though. Can't skate with your head down like that. Shades of Lindros.

You don't jump kronwall you jump their best player. Then you point to kronwall on the bench as they take you to the box with zetterberg lying in a heap on the ice.

"If they put one of our guys in the hospital, we put one of theirs in the morgue."

Seriously, though, as a long-time fan of the Flyers type of hockey, I would be hypocritical to be screaming that the hit was a blatant, dirty attempt to injure. Five years ago, there would be nothing to say besides, "Will Don Cherry put it in the latest Rock-em Sock-em Hockey video even though Kronwall is a Euro?" However, the landscape has changed and this is the type of hit that the league seems to be trying to remove. I doubt Kronwall will get a suspension, given that Nystrom didn't get one either.

The biggest disappointment, as others mentioned, was that the refs refused to blow down the play with Voracek in obvious distress.

Honestly, it was a fantastic hit by Kronwall

He definitely doesn't deserve to be suspended, but with the new NHL...who knows

If the NHL is trying to drive this kind of hit out of the game then something happens to him - suspension, fine, etc...

Just remember... in a police raid on a ***** house, the good get carted off just like the bad.

I don't ever want to see anyone get injured at any point in the game, but it happens. The hit was clean and Voracek didn't have his head up. He needs to have his head up and be aware of whats going on around him. Voracek put himself into that position and Kronwall did was he is known best for, laying huge hits, and they are usually clean like this one. I don't want to see a suspension and i'm a flyers fan.

No suppl disc for Kronwall on Voracek. PPOC was head but deemed full body on body hit. Not a hit NHL believes should be out of the game.

And so the visor wearing coward Kronwall will continue to dish out potentially career ending hits... the guy makes me want to puke. At least man up and fight someone after the hit.

he looked like such a panzy afterwards when the Flyers were chirping him to drop the gloves. reminded me of an 8 year old in the schoolyard pleading his case to a kid that's about to shut him up

Rinaldo got 2 games for a 2 minute charging penalty.

Kronwall gets nothing for putting his shoulder blade into someone's head.

This is a joke

Didn't Voracek look directly at him, then still proceed to look down at the puck?

Yup. If he had just put his free arm up across his body this is just a huge hit without he head impact.
