Voted for John Tavares. Was between him, Martin and Hamonic in my brain.

I think JT is very deserving of the nod. Kid works hard on and off the ice. Exemplifies what a hockey player should be. Has improved greatly in each of his 3 seasons with us. (I mentioned in my comment that it's been a long time since we could say that our most talented player was also the hardest working.)

We're lucky to have him. Now, let's get him some ****ing assistance!

Mitch

It's gotta be JT, it's really been his year

JT, Martin or Hamonic are the only acceptable choices really.

To me Claude Lapointe epitomizes the award. Therefore I'll vote for the most LaPointish out of the bunch. And right now, despite the vast size differential, that would be Matt Martin.

To me it is a tough call between JT and Matty Marts, but I had to go with Johnny.

I know this is a good thing and an award meant for our players but I don't vote for these things because once you enter your info in you get an onslaught of "Hey this is the Islanders! You want to buy tickets or anything?"

But it should be JT.

Just put a dummy # in the box.

I've actually put my Florida # there and never heard from them. Guess they realize their is not chance of me buying tickets. LOL!

I've never been called by the NYI for anything. This is probably the 3rd time I've given them my digits. I think they're afraid to hear what I have to say.

Either that or they're afraid you'll go on and on and on.

Sorry Mitch, I couldn't resist.

LOL that was a classic line....i will say Mitchy, over time you have grown to be probably the most rational poster amongst these boards..many times where i disagree with you, but you usually end up being right in the long run

As long as they fear me...

No reason to resist. Even I make fun of myself for how wordy I am on here.

Thanks for the kind words. Even when I'm wrong, I at least try to be rational in my wrongness.

There should be a hitting, fighting and underdog component to this award. That is why MattMartin got my vote.

Matt Martin. This guy puts it all on the line every single game, he sacrifices his body shift after shift, game after game.

I went with Travis Hamonic but it was real close with him and Tavares I went with Travis because he was who I thought of right away.

There is nothing the Islanders can do to give Tavares enough praise
