A win gives the Rangers 40 ROW in 65 games, a 10-point lead in the division (again), and a 3 (or 4)-point lead for the President's Trophy while still having a game in hand on Vancouver, St. Louis, and Detroit. They would also be one point short of doubling-up Columbus on the year (last time the first place team doubled the last place team was 2006; Buffalo at 113, Philly at 56). Just a fun fact.

For everyone talking about how great Boston is around the league, there are now 3 teams in a single DIVISION in BOTH CONFERENCES better than they are.

Atlantic - Rangers (91), Pittsburgh (83), Philadelphia (79)
Central - St. Louis (89), Detroit (89), Nashville (83)

Probably time to stop putting them up as presumptive Cup finalists.

Stralman struggles mightily against bigger teams. He's a bit soft.[/QUOTE]

In defense of Stralman , I was at that Flyer Game when he destroyed Read, sounded like a bomb went off , the whole Garden erupted , wouldn't call him soft

stralman had 2 mediocre/bad games in a row. 1 game off to get him re-motivated isn't the worst thing in the world.

I love seeing the Kovy praise after everything that us Devs fans have heard about him since the contract signing (especially the 1st half of last season), but this kind of praise is just too much (I don't know if it's sarcasm).

While Kovy is much different than how he was in Atlanta years and in patches of his early Devils days, he certainly is not on the level of Cally/Parise when it comes to effort on both ends of the ice, at all times. There will still be plenty of instances where he glides just a little too much, makes rink turns, etc. They don't happen too often, but still. There are plenty of good things that you can say about him, but emphasizing this quality (saying he gives such a good work rate like the two aforementioned guys) is not needed or necessarily true.

P.S. love the avy Fitzy. I've noticed it before but seeing it again got me even more excited for the season opener on Sunday!

Rupp or Bickel is capable of fighting either of those guys. I'm happy when the Devils skate those guys, they can't play hockey. Doubt Boulton would fight Scott anyway do to the size/reach disadvantage. However Janssen is an animal and he'd probably even fight Chara.

I agree, that's the beauty of having some depth on D ,Eminger is just as capable at adding some of the physicality that Stralman provides, I like Eminger He was playing really solid before he got injured

Pumped for this one tonight, would love to get the 2pts and put a little more distance between the Pens (with Crosby looking closer to a return). Great to see the captain back, was getting worried about the severity of this foot bruise.

Personally, I thought the idea behind getting Scott was to reduce the wear and tear on regular roster players down the stretch, especially the staged stuff.

Agitator Mills brought up too. Looks like they have their 4th line rounded out. We'll see.

Yep. Isn't this the exact type of game that he was brought in for?? He could have sat against the Bolts or Canes.

MSG is showing one hour of the game on the main MSG Network, why even bother? People are going to be confused when the Knicks pregame comes on in the middle of the game.

You mean bernmeister?

And essays? We talkin bout essays? Not a final, Not a final...but essays???? We aint talkin about a final, we talkin about essays mannn

Essays are never started before 10 pm anyways. Or at least that's how much college routine went. Never had to miss a rangers game. I might have done some research leading up to and during the pregame show, but never started the essay until after 10 at the earliest
