Kings @ Predators "King's Ransom for a Win"
VIDEO
NHL.com Preview:
http://www.nhl.com/ice/preview.htm?id=2011020991
Quote:
Season Series: Third of four meetings. Each side has won a one-goal game on its home ice. Simon Gagne had the decisive tally in the Kings' 4-3 victory on Nov. 8, while Patric Hornqvist scored the winning goal as the Predators prevailed 2-1 on Feb. 27.
Big Story: As the Sharks have scuffled, the Kings have won three of their last four games to pull within one point of their Pacific Division rivals for the eighth and final Western Conference playoff berth -- although Los Angeles has also played one additional game. While the Kings only average 2.12 goals per game, they recently moved past Minnesota and out of 30th in the NHL in that category -- and the wild card in their lineup, trade-deadline acquisition Jeff Carter, scored his first goals Saturday in his fourth game with the team.
Lineups
SK - Fisher - Erat
AK - Legwand - Hornqvist
Tootoo - Spaling - Wilson
Bourque - Gaustad - Smith
Suter - Weber
Gill - Josi
Bouillon - Hillen
Rinne
Brown - Kopitar - Williams
King - Richards - Carter
Penner - Stoll - Lewis
Nolan - Fraser - Clifford
Scuderi - Doughty
Mitchell - Voynov

Just moved back to Nashville on Saturday and this will be my first home game since game 6 against Anaheim last year. Bring it on!

Red Wings @ Philly, Blackhawks @ the Blues, with a win we could make up some ground.

Absolutely. Wings are without Datsyuk and more recently, Howard. The next few games are crucial.

Got an exceptional deal on tickets for the lower bowl for this game, and I am going with one of my buddies for his birthday. Hopefully the result is similar to the ThirdManIn bday spectacular.

Pekka Rinne vs. Jonathan Quick in nets tonight.
When asked about the lineup, Trotz said only minor tweaks if any, nothing more than maybe 1 D and 1 F changed.
Hoping to see Ellis replace Bouillon tonight. Don't expect a forward to change out, but if it does, I'd look for Smith to get pulled in favor of Halischuk or Yip to add grit to fourth line...

Love this comment from Sutter:

I'd like to see Ellis replace Bouillon too, not Hillen, but would really be surprised if they sit Frankie. They like his bowling ball random hits even though they usually leave him out of position.

Kings V Preds is always fun. I am sure you guys talk about it alot, but it is an absolute crime that Trotz has only been a finalist once and has never won a Jack Adams Award.

haha well......we agree, thanks. But I guess performance is all that matter so if it goes unawarded, so be it.

Probably Colorado, but there's no reason why we couldn't win both.
