I left at the 5 minute mark . I got tired of watching us get walked all over by the Kings. Shades of our PO series with SJ. Just a piss poor effort all around. Better be ready to play against another desperate bubble team in Colo on Thursday.

Bleh.

Weber, Suter and Rinne need to pick it up. I asked this on the last GDT but didn't see the answer...do any stat heads out there know the numbers on how many goals against Weber and Suter have been on the ice for in the past 5 games or so? It seems like a lot.

Toots should be a scratch on Thursday. Put Hali in instead.

It ranks as one of the worst played games of the year, and we only lost to the stout Kings by one.
And Josi was a +2 as well. Good job kid!

IMO Rinne was just having an off night. Otherwise he usually is on point and even stands on his head to give the Preds a fighting chance to win games. Suter and Weber imo haven't seemed the same since the AS game. Mike has had a few off nights since the trades happened and we got new players on the team otherwise he was doing great but even on his off nights at least he seems to hussle/try to score even if he comes up short/off like tonight. The D however just look like they weren't even trying to hussle/play.

fisher plays hard .. I don't see the same from weber and suter. something is not right.. its obvious. weber has went from a complete beast to an average defenseman with a great shot he is unable to use

Or they could be that good but just more focused/worried about what other team they will be playing w/ next year.....hmmmm. I'm hoping its just an off night or being laxed/rusty because of being off for so many days or because of having a lead on the teams below us in the standings and not because of a lack of effort/interest in playing. W/ the exception of a few players, the whole team seemed off tonight so hopefully it was just one of those nights and they will come w/ their A game for the next game.

I've been waiting to say that, but glad you stepped in first. I'll let you handle the wrath.

Also, Ellis didn't play too well I don't think. But neither did Frankie. Also, Suter and Weber have looked not the greatest either. Suter fell on his ass on one of the 3rd period goals.

I guess being mentioned for star of the game against the same team last week warrants being sat out against them in the return game. To me, Hillen was strong in back to back games, and Cube hasn't registered ANYTHING. Also, was it just me, or did anyone else notice Gill not being on the ice too much in the 3rd??

By the way, Mike got an assist tonight and it's his 400th point. So congrads on him for that. Still would have been nice to get that scoring goal though to tie the game. Maybe next time.

He had less than 4 minutes of ice time in the 3rd. When you need to create offense and score some goals, there is little point in putting Gill out there. He lacks the mobility to get up ice and help the rush, he lacks the passing skills required to find teammates when they are in traffic or to cut through a defensive formation and he lacks the shot to be a trigger guy in the offensive zone. In such situations, for all his positive attributes, he isn't all that useful.

It was an issue for the Habs playing 4 on 4 this year as well, especially in OT. When short a man or with both sides at full strength, Gill can do his thing but when the ice opens up and you need players on the ice who can skate and have good vision, Gill hinders more than helps. There have been several Habs games this year they lost in OT with Gill on the ice, often because he lacks the mobility or puck skills to make the plays the team requires in that situation. But with the Habs braindead coaching this year, he was often out there in OT and it seemed we played the OT period trying not to lose (like a 4 on 4 PK) rather than to try and win. Hal is a quality guy who can play a big role on a team, but you have to use him within that role and not put him in situations he is ill suited to playing in.

It's regretable to note that in this example, you could have been asked to clarify which of the offensively talented players we gave up on you were actually talking about. I think that deserves another

Yes it seems AK has the unexpected benefit of making SK shoot the puck more which has been his biggest problem to me.

Weber seemed like he was hurt in the last game. Wonder if it affected his game tonight.

Can't forget either that he went feet first into the boards again when he was tripped behind the net...

No excuses though. Whole team played pretty poorly tonight. Severely underestimated and failed to meet LA's level of desperation. Got their chances when they worked hard, but LA got the jump early and lead the whole night. Can't happen...

Hey guys, good game tonight. Totally different (not talking about the results, but the style of game) from the last time they met just a week ago.

LA's offense has made a dramatic turnaround in the past five games. They hung 4 each on Chicago, Minnesota, and Anaheim in the past week. Chalk this one up to playing against a hot and desperate team. You guys will be fine in the playoffs.

On another note, does anyone know how I can get in contact with Pete Weber? Someone needs to tell him that Voynov's name is not pronounced "Voy-AH-nov".

IMHO, it pretty much boils down to this. One went in off him. Another he scored on himself. 2 more he was flailing around like a duck.

These games will happen. No one is on top of their game every night, and as Rinne goes, we go.

Regular Rinne and we win 4-2.
