This weather is pretty stupid, at least the positive is we all know its supposed to start warming up today and it looks like the damn snow has finally stopped. I don't care so much about getting snow, but I fricken hate when it snows for like 40 straight hours.
What pissed me off this time is that it was warm enough to be melting all day and then froze at night. I'd take the -10 for highs over this warm then cold crap.
Although I guess if I owned a car wash I'd be smiling.
I think this is why people who live int he West know more about the entire league than people out east. Most of them are long in bed by the time a game is on.
I love the west, We pretty much have tripleheaders everyday depending on what channels you get, East games at 5, central at 6 or 7, west at 8 pacific at 9

I think too many people here are buying Stauffer's cool aid about the refs
calls are down across the NHL over the past few weeks and most fans have noticed this--however only one fan base is kicking up a storm
guess it seems odd to go almost two full games without a powerplay. considering the power play is one of the only bright spots about the team, I can understand peoples concern.
I can't blame peoples disgust that the refs are all of a sudden calling the games pre 2004 style and the Oilers seem to be getting screwed over more than most.

I called it right before it happened. The Oil did that twice on the same pk before that kill. Wish I could say it was a fluke but the Oilers do that all the freaking time.

I think we all called it as soon as the puck didn't even get cleared across the red line and we headed off for a change that it would quickly be in the back of our net. They've definitely been making those risky changes all year on the PK. Clearly, they've had it drilled into their heads that they have to take short shifts on the PK -- every clear results in a line change -- but no one remembered to teach them to make sure the puck is actually cleared before heading off for a change.
In the long parade of huge, embarrassing failures that we've had to watch for the last several years, that first goal was right up there for me as a low water mark. A 5 on 0 during a powerplay. Unreal.
