I'd really like the Blues to just lay a good old-fashioned ass-whooping on the Hawks tonight. Not that this is an easy game by any stretch, but damn would it make my night. Seems like it's been awhile since we've really stomped a central division opponent.
Blues have more talent than the Hawks, just more spread out with no peaks or valleys, its more of a plateau... except for Pietro. Id take him over anyone on the Hawks.
I don't think the Blues are, strictly speaking, more talented than Chicago... and I think most Blues fans would agree.
However, they play their system fantastically well, and their team game is incredible... as are their two goalies. That is where they trump Chicago, and it is by quite a lot.

We're going to have to agree to disagree. I think you are being swayed by years past and their 4 forwards, whats beyond that?
If we played their system some of our guys would have prettier offensive stats and we would be giving up a ton more goals. On top of that, talent doesnt just lie in the offensive zone. We have 2 goaltenders and a pile of Dmen that are immensely more talented than what they have in the D-zone. Not to mention our bottom 6 when healthy. Their talent is mainly in 5 players and it doesnt make up for the lack of depth they have in terms of being more talented than the Blues, IMO.
Kick them both out of the game. That is exactly the type of fight that is bad for hockey. I get and like a fight that comes out of anger/frustration from the play, but staged fights like that are crap.
