I'd like to see the PP1 get switched to Carlson + Green and have Ovechkin playing slot/left wing, it really opens up the ice with him in the slot being covered.

I think I might pick American Idol over the Caps tonight. No desire to go to the game or watch it.

Sad state of affairs.

I hate the Caps right now but American Idol?

At least tonight they'll make an NHL goalie look like Roy instead of an AHL goalie

I'm sure I'll end up renewing in the next week and a half, so I feel i deserve a few games off.

Yeah I do that too from time to time so I totally hear you. Its frustrating being a Caps fan.

I tried to break ties and switch teams once back in the mid 90s after many years where Poile failed to acquire that scorer we needed but it never succeeded as I always came back for more punishment....

Right now its a train wreck and i can't help but tune in. If we start losing I will be curious to see the fans reaction and how the players respond to it.

Have to agree with that. Those two shutouts was like watching paint dry. Had the DVR going for NJ game and ended up just watching the 3rd period live.

NHL really picked a great picture of Crosby to put up.

Who can blame Bergeron, that face demands to be elbowed.

Who's in net tonight? The Koun back?

Sometimes we just don't know what we have til its gone. I miss the days of Boudreau and his run n gun hockey.

I had such high hope for Dale (he is my all time fav player) and I'm utterly shocked about how repressive his "system" is. Its like watching the Blue Jackets during the Hitchcock era...ughhhh

Little off topic for this the GDT but I've watched a good portion of a few games from the 2009-2010 season. Hunter's forecheck system is way to conservative, IMHO. 3rd forward stays to high and then the two other forwards end up getting outnumbered 3 to 2 and get the puck dispossessed or fail to win the puck from the other team.

Yep. Thats what a trapping/structured system will do for you....we sit back and hope the other team turns it over and we have a counter strike. Its like punting the ball on 3rd down.

BB used a total pressure attack and it put other teams on their heels. We consistently had the puck and outshot/outchanced opponents.

If it wasn't for that jerkhole Halak it would have never come to this...

Boudreau lost me with his epic failures to adjust in the playoffs and his hubris in forcing Tyler Sloan into the line-up over Karl Alzner against Montreal.

I love love love Hunter the player. It's impossible to judge Hunter the coach--the player personnel is a joke. Who could coach this bunch into a winning team?

2 guys forechecking? What a dream that would be for Hunter to do now. Now its one guy usually a center(wow this makes a lot of ****ing sense doesn't it, the center should be the one back) swinging his stick around like a monkey and coasting by actually not doing really anything. I'd venture to say the Capitals have created the least turn overs and had nearly the most turn overs since Hunter took over.

That Montreal series was the beginning of our downfall. Its really too bad Bruce couldn't do the unthinkable and finally get us a cup. But we regressed the team became a mess, his window to win a cup here closed fast. At least he got a fair shake, his only regret was listening to George

Huh thats funny. I don't see it that way at all.

Flyers - We started slow but really had the territorial edge in the last 4 games. Biron simply outplayed Huet..by a good margin.

Rangers (both series) - We were clearly the more dominant team and the Rangers were lucky to get even 1 win in both series combined.

Pens - We were outgunned. They were the better team.

Montreal - To this day I have never seen a goalie play as good as Halak in those last 3 games. 54 shots in game 6?? Are you kidding me? We completely dominated them and Halak stole that series.

Tampa - We sucked but at the same time Neuvirth came down to earth and Roloson played like he did for the Oilers when they made their run a few years back. On a side note...I never seen so many crud goals scored by a team in a series. Every goal tampa seemed to score they winged it from a bad angle and it hit a skate and went in..the gods were against us.

In most ALL the games in the playoffs (with the exception of the Pens series) we were the better team but just didn't have the horses on D and in net.

Hunter playing the 4th line against the first line. I thought it was just his stupid, our fourth liners severe angle shots create energy crap, but he did it twice.
