I guess you haven't watched him play over the last 2 years then. Grabo is one of the hardest working forwards. When he goes, the second line goes.
Plekanec got 5 mill.. Grabo should get the same.
Similar stats over the past 2 seasons and Grabos two years younger

4.25 would be fair for 5 years, hopefully no more then 4.75.

Yep. he was the top UFA centre this summer and would have commanded big bucks in a bidding war.
Glad that hes a Leaf. Hes a heart and soul warrior.

I am thinking 4.5 sounds about right considering the term.

Any many Leafs fans are homers. Grabo IS simply a 2nd line center. Can a 2nd line center not make others around him better? Isn't that what he's supposed to do? I like him, but let's not glorify him here either. He's a good 2nd line center, nothing more. Solid signing, hopefully it's 4.5-4.75, 5 is the absolute max.

YES. Anything less than 5 is awesome. Heck I wouldn't even mind more than 5 considering guys like Connolly and Lombardi are off the hook after next year. Plays every night with every inch of his body and doesn't take anything for granted...Couple that with the fact that he absolutely torches the Habs, I love this guy.
I still remember that game when he took two thunderous hits from Chara looked all but out with a concussion, kept playing and score the game winner with less than 3 mins to go in regulation by slipping right past two defenseman.

I'm guessing $5.1 million/year.
Too bad, I was hoping the Islanders were going to pursue him in free agency.

Plek can shut down players in the regular season and playoffs. What has grabo done in the playoffs? Oh yeah nvm

Given his age, production, importance to the team, and lack of forward talent on the UFA market - wouldn't shock me if it's 5 over 5.
Seems like it's the market price for such players.

Next time, tell him to shutdown Grabo when he's playing against the Habs.

The timing isn't great for Habs fans to be making fun of Grabovski

Silly Habs fans.
Habs didn't sign Gomez to his contract so that point is irrelevant.

Is this a thread about plekanec or a totally different player who just re-signed with a totally different team. **** off.
Anyways, good for the leafs. He has some great chemistry with kulemin and MacArthur which you wouldn't necessarily be able to replace this off-season.

No it isn't, the Habs willingly traded for his contract.

Anything under 5mil is good. You can't compare his cap hit to players that signed their contract 2 seasons ago, the cap has gone up considerably since then. It's like saying "if Kesler makes 5mil then Grabo should make no more than 3.25mil." It just doesn't work that way.
I'm gonna guess 4.83mil/yr, a bit of a home town discount.
