BTW, What part of Ontario is Grabo from? He's married a Canadian girl. Cherry will need this info for the next CC.

My thoughts exactly. I'd be ok with 5 per year. Given burke's history with negotiations though, I wouldn't be surprised if its a bit less

We get to see him on 24/7 LOL.

"Hey Grabo, what's the difference between Frattin and Kulemin?"

"Frattin doesn't speak Russian"

Regardless of who signed the contract, Gomez is a Hab. I understand he wasn't signed by MTL... Gainey gave up top prospect Ryan McDonagh for him.

Don't throw stones if you live in a glass house. Gomez is the worst contract in the league by miles.

Grabo is a good 2nd line centre and most Leaf fans are very happy with this news. Its unfortunate Habs fans are so bitter.

He's a 2nd line center..Leafs could just call up Colborne. Not a total replacement but it does the job.

Hoping Grabovski keeps up the good play. Love the energy he brings and hopefully the longterm contract doesn't make him lazy.

I love Joe Colborne, but at this point it would set our team back miles if he were to replace Grabo.

People need to realize Grabo is a centerman on pace for 63pts. this season (28 goals) and hes about 50% at the dot. Not only that, but at the age of 27 he's entering his prime years. What do you think a player like that will get in free agency? Leino got 4.75mil for 6 years last season after putting together one good season. Grabo has had about 4 good seasons in a row so far averaging at a 55 pts. pace. With the cap expected to take a sharp climb this offseason, I see no reason why Grabo couldn't net 5.75mil or so for the next 5-6 years in free agency.

Stop being logical. Thats not how HF works.

Grabo is a Leaf - Leafs suck = Bad contract, overpaid, overrated.

In reality, Grabo is one of the better 2nd line centres in the league, and you wont find many tougher.... On most other teams, he gets mad respect...but he's a Leaf so people hate.

Seems a bit high, but tis the market of UFAs right now.

Better than losing him for nothing, Leaf fans. If he's overpaid, it's not by much.

I'm really not bitter at all. I watched Grabo develop as well as David Desharnais. Both are similar, and I believe Desharnais will be the better player overall.

Grabo must have a heck of an agent. But I'll shut my piehole until I see what we sign Filppula for.

5.5mil... More than expected. I figured he'd get about 5.75mil in free agency so its not as if this isn't in line with that, definitely no discount given by Grabo to stay in TO though.

Exactly. I'm not mad about the 5.5M. He's our second line center, who was going to replace him? there was no one available and he's one of our best players. I'm glad we're keeping Grabo!
