Or a pylon on a skateboard.
I agree, I'd even be alright with it if the skateboard was missing a couple wheels.

Bringing him to Bingo to spend more time in our system is a no-brainer IMO. He will be playing in Bingo or Ottawa next season anyway. Get him here ASAP.

We weren't favourites when we went to the finals either.

If he plays well in Binhamton (assuming he goes at some point), and management thinks he could contribute and make the team better, I say why not.

Zibanejad isn't the type of prospect that you will have to give a hefty raise to once his ELC is complete. He is going to be a heluva good player, BUT it's going to take some time. If anything, by burning a year off his contract this year, it may mean we negotiate his next contract before he even comes close to his potential.

This is assuming that he is expected to make the team next year. Otherwise I would say keep him down.

This, it's annoying when people say we have no chance, it's a loser attitude, once we're in the playoffs ANYTHING can happen, even if we're in a rebuild Anderson or Bishop can help us steal a round or two, and Zibanejad, IMO, could help us, but it's a tough choice

From what they were saying on the radio zibby will be playing in a tournament that will decided if durgarden will stay in the SEL or move down to a second tier? So actually he'll be busy for the next month.

It's something like that anyways

Not sure if mentioned yet...they play a relegation round in Sweden even if you don't make the playoffs, so Zbad's team in Sweden is still playing hockey the next 3-4 weeks.

If they let him play, I was reading in the prospect thread and some people and a swedish poster were saying (I think) that he doesn't get a lot of ice time and he didn't see the ice the other day in OT, if they waste his time like this I'd AT LEAST bring him in bingo where he can get quality minutes

EDIT: just read he was on the 1st line today, so.. ok

And maybe a bit more because they have to wait for the lower league qualification playoff(round robin 4 team 2 game each) to finish. And then the relegation tournament is 6 team 10 game each.

EDIT: Just saw that the Kvalserien is march 15th-april 6th...so yeah...4weeks was right...

**** the contract.

It's so very unimportant, if they think he can help the team he will play. I for one think he can.

In other words, disregard contracts, obtain Zibanejads.

I thought it didn't burn a year (from what I had read off another site). I don't see any reason not to have him play in Bingo.

Get him down here!

Ian Mendes said that GM Tim Murray will tell him what he plans on doing with Mika Zibanejad during the 2nd period intermission.

Bingo for sure. And i wouldn't be all that opposed to seeing him up here...if it's deemed that he can contribute or someone in the top-6 gets injured

I win.

Tim Murray shares my opinion.

I would think that having him get acclimated to the NA game/ice in Bingo is pretty much a no-brainer... Burning up a ELC year would just be wasteful.

After he's done in Sweden (April 6th) he's coming to NA. Will probably play a game or two in Bingo but team definitely wants him up to be a part of the playoffs as one of the "black aces".

Also said they aren't worried about burning a year of his deal if they feel he's a top 6 player, but that sounded unlikely.

Can't imagine they'd "waste" a year with him coming in after the reg. season is done. He's not gonna be a difference maker, so unless there are several injuries, he'd be fine just skating with the black aces and soaking in the atmosphere for now.

I think our biggest weakness is having another winger with high temp, good speed, some size and a good shot. They have already said Zibanejad will likely be a winger at the NHL level, so I think he might actually be a decent fit on one of our scoring lines right away. I'd give him an audition on the wing in Bingo first, but if he is flying around and wreaking havoc down there, I can't see holding him back if we're in the playoffs and management thinks he could help. Hell, there is no sure thing we even make the playoffs next year, so you have to go for it when you have the chance.

He would only have time to play two games down there, really, and those would be when the playoffs have started in the NHL. So not much room to swing.

Does the relegation round run until early April, regardless of how his team does?

That is a bit of a problem, as Bingo might not even make the playoffs.

Yes, they'll play 10 games no matter what. It's a mini-league. The last game is April 6th.

Of course, they could have secured their SEL spot a few games earlier, but that would only be a few days earlier, anyway.

Even if he was practicing with the team, and experiencing what the play offs are like (even if not playing) then there is some value to that.
