I found that reading the books actually made me enjoy the show even more, as it added some much needed context to what was going on, and why things were as they were.

Books 3 and 5 are my favourites for sure, but they're all good.
Crazy if 3-5 are that good and the 1st season was that awesome I can't wait for what's to come. Good call on stopping(not sure how you controlled yourself to do that) but then reading the books and then going back and watching. Even though I blew through the first 4 episode sin one night I found that at first it was hard to follow the characters and who was related to who.

Staying at fairmont macdonald hotel downtown. Front desk says go to "The Pint" to see Caps/Sabres. Agree?

Thanks on short notice.

Ya probably as good a place as any, what are you looking for? Whyte Ave is always a safe bet, tons of bars within a 5-10 minute walk and it's fairly close to downtown as well.

The Pint will work great in that case, not a lot of other bars around but it has those 4 down for sure.

Lol with his terrible mechanics I doubt he could even be a successful qb here. At least that's my opinion. His athleticism is great though.

*boosting post count*

Anyone else here get real sick over these past 1 or 2 weeks? That is, like fever or flu sorta thing? I've been sick since last Friday, completely bed ridden, hurts to walk around, move my head, lots of aches and pains through my body, particularly neck and back. I've never had a fever this bad before. High temperature, consistently 38-39 on the thermometer. I felt better Monday afternoon and thought I might be coming out of it but fell ill and was burning up again Tuesday morning around 3am. Been very hard to sleep even with all the medication. It was so bad I drove myself to ER yesterday, they did the blood work and said it just a virus, no mono or anything, but said they'll have to wait a couple days for more in detail results of what it could be. They hooked me up to an IV and sent me home with percocets. I do have a very bad sore throat with swollen lymph nodes, it hurts to eat or drink water, can barely brush my teeth. They told me to just keep taking advil, drinking warm water, rinsing my mouth with warm salt water (I've developed some bad canker sores)... It's just a huge pain in the ass. I felt like I was getting better again last night but woke up this morning at 4am in a boiling sweat. It's ****ing ridiculous. Frustrating because I'm a pretty healthy guy, exercise, quit smoking, eat relatively well and all of a sudden BOOM.

I came here to vent (no pun intended), I hope someone is sharing my pain! Misery loves company.

I was sick like that for a few days, but I think it might have more to do with my intake of alcohol.

With that being said I've talked to quite a people that have been really sick, but it most had it a month or longer ago.

Not sure if this comment falls under political talk or not, but I'm going to post anyway.

I would really like to see the removal of campaign signs. Instead I'd like to see pamphlets explaining the people's views. Yukon Jack had a rant the other day about how most people are just uneducated when it comes to voting and I agree. It just seems like a god damn popularity contest. Plus I'd think making pamphlets would be better for the environment and cheaper.

Yeah I agree and they are somewhat of a distraction. Kind of a double standard for a government that just brought in a distracted drivers law.

Can anyone explain to me why people would want to save the Penny?

It's useless and annoying. I throw them in the trash or tell the cashier to keep the change.

I know, but some people are already organizing to protest that decision.

Why? What practical purpose does the Penny serve to ANYONE at this point?

Well it sounds like you'll still be able to use them for quite some time, but if they're not available for cash transactions then there will be some rounding, up or down.

Yeah I'd assume so or else everything will be priced in increments of 5 cents.

My understanding is that all retailers would be forced to round to the nearest nickel.

The nickel: Also pretty useless. Just force all prices to be rounded to the nearest 0.25 and abolish everything less.

Inflation is a *****. Kids should be paying at least 14 cents a candy by now.

Why not get rid of change altogether and round to the nearest five?
