Too bad I can't tag people on HF. I would have tagged you as an 'insider for real'.

Ok, time for some Arkham City. Good talks and such. We're all in this together, blah blah blah, whatever happens, hell I'm down for a good tank right now. Then start off next year kicking ass and find a way to maintain it the whole year. Sounds good to me.

Now Batman's gotta patrol the streets, crime never sleeps..

Boy I may regret saying this but I kind of agree, that Kessel may not resign here under Carlyle. We will have to watch this relationship closely.

Kessel will have to improve his play away from the puck a whole lot or I can see this as being a possible issue.

As they will and as they should.

I hope I'm wrong, but based on where we are in the standings, our schedule, our goaltending, and the potential season-ending injury to Lupul, I'd bet a lot more on us finishing in the bottom five than making the playoffs.

Far from it. No goalie would look good in this system. We let guys walk into the slot with ease. We do not clear rebounds for our goalies or put shooters into tougher positions. What goalie in this league would look good here? This system needs to change we leave our goalies out to dry night after night.

Kessel wants to win, he knows he got to play better defense, he's not a quitter; he likes playing in Toronto even though he's a shy guy, he doesn't mind the pressure. He will re-sign with Toronto.

If grabo got 5.5 I'd be scared to see what kess will demand.... my guess is he would be asking for 7.0+ which is just insane.

You can't. The D was awful on four of the five goals. That said, you need your goalie to make one or two killer stops every night and Gus did not do that. The fifth goal was stoppable, too. It's blind luck that he didn't let in six or seven, as the Bs missed a couple of open nets.

Also, Gus was flopping all night long. The guy has zero technique. He overcommitted all over the place again tonight, constantly winding up out of position. One of those Gus nights when you tense up on every opposing shot.

Who wants him back? Seriously, Kessel is the best player to move at the deadline for serious assets, including a centre. He's never going to be a top player on a contending team, but he would be a huge addition to a club going for it all at the deadline next year.

It'll never happen, as Burke's ego is too huge to ever do this. It'd be like admitting he was wrong about something, which just ain't ever gonna happen. But it sure should. Be a huge way to move forward. No other asset on the team worth as much. Burke just killed Grabo's worth with that ridiculous contract, so Kessel is the only guy worth moving for key building blocks.

Such an ugly trade. Especially when you see Seguin. Two more goals tonight. He's a better player than Kessel already.
