rosen called ryan carter, john carter. he must be real excited for that new movie.
If he was playing last night, you would have heard Rosen call Taormina "Tromina." I'll give Rosen credit for shortening some of these names at least. Its highly efficient.
1) the devils are a farm team to the NHL by losing players via fa.
2) the rangers played their 4th game in 6 nights
3) the rangers would've lost to most AHL teams with their performance last night
4) having Deboer is bad because he said the 2pts were important, implying the previous 2-4-6... Points were not
Lemme check. We haven't lost anyone truly significant to FA since Rafalski while managing to sign the biggest FA yet.
Thursday-Friday-off-Sunday-off-tuesday seems like 4 in 6 to me but perhaps my remedial Mathematics and calendar reading skills are off.
That would require the AHL team to have the ability to pounce on the turnovers provided or to force the turnovers......but if they could do that to a NHL team, they wouldn't be playing in the AHL.
Finally, 2pts are always important. The poster made his own inferences as to why the coach only said the points were important last night. Really? You ever hear a coach go "those two points weren't important, those two points we won last night were, the ones we dropped the game before that aren't, the one we earned losing the shoot out is, but these points....THESE POINTS, brah, you jus don't get what it means!" What a dumb ****ing comment that was.

Haha I just read that last page...that's hilarious!!!
I read 2 pages... had to leave. Started to drool a little out the side of my mouth and got scared.
Yeah there's a lot I'd love to quote and comment on, but I don't want any infractions. So, I'll just read, sit here with a sweet grin on my face and just chuckle at the tears.
Ok, you go ahead and convince yourself that getting outshot 11-1 at one point and then the remainder of the period only outshooting them 6-3 while being outscored 1-0 someone isn't awful.
"The Rangers upped their game" implies the Devils did NOT, which again, goes along with the whole 'awful period' thing.
The 3rd was how you would ideally hope they played the 2nd, coming out with the lead and burying them immediately. Giving them no hope.
They didn't play any worse in the 2nd than they did the 3rd. Or at least not that much worse.
Shame I missed most of this game, but I'm finally back in regular mode and I'll be in attendance on Thursday.
Considering the team went through some ups and downs over the last month at least I know I'm not a jinx or anything, haha.

What did you do - visit Akron or Toledo once and decide the entire state is like that?
Didnt mean to offend anyone from Ohio, I just commented on a jab about NJ being the armpit of America, the reason I said that about Ohio is, I saw a little clip during the Tosh.O show, they showed scenes from Ohio (a bunch of polluted rivers etc) and at the end it said...Ohio...at least we're not Detroit!
So maybe I should have said...did he ever see Detroit! (now I offended someone from Detroit)

One of the best quotes I heard last night..courtesy of NYR218.
The drawing if you paid for your season tickets in full for next season was "Double your Season Tickets"...NYR218 leans over to Tony and says "In NJ they double your season tickets, in NY they double your season ticket prices"!
The Rangers just don't have the horses for a deep playoff run...They can fool themselves into believing they are a good team much like we Devil fans did in the mid to late 1990's when we were winning the conference and couldn't score to save our lives in the playoffs....
They are grinding out a lot of playoff type wins in the regular season...but we devil fans know once everyone begins playing like that in April, top goal scorers are often shutdown and without that secondary scoring you are in trouble.
They don't have the elite talent up front or should I say enough...Their defense and goaltending is right up there with anyone in the league...But when you’re going in the playoffs with 1 goal scorer who accounts for 18% of the teams total goals and 2 guys that account for 35% of the teams total, that is a pretty easy team to shutdown.

Great win last night. Devs sat back to much in the second but they responded well after the Rangers tied it. Don't know why they didn't do that from the get go but in this league you very rarely play a game where you control the play from start to finish.
I have to say I am becoming a cranky old man at games - we had about 8 ranger fans in our row (we sit on the aisle) and these guys were up and down all game getting beers and food and whatever and always during the ****ing play. Finally half way through the second period I just said to one - Have the Rangers been so bad for so long that you don't know how to sit and watch a ****ing hockey game? So annoying.
