Can't believe I was ever going to mention his name with the Lightning EVER again, but Johan Holmqvist??
He's in the SEL I believe still. Doubt he would want to come back anyway. I still shiver when thinking about that tandem. We traded away his rights too when he was a part of the Richards deal (don't know if the Stars still have them either..)
i'm excited to see Tic. hope he gets a game. I think its good for him to see what this team is going through down the stretch and how much every game matters
Tokarski recalled from Norfolk. Playoffs guaranteed.
finally!
really sad to see Roloson end his career like this though i hope after we clinch playoffs he gets to play and dominates his last game ever or something
Hypothetically if Tokarski owns it up during this call up. Think he will be on the big club permanently?
Well, if the Calder Cup Playoffs extend past Tampa winning the Stanley Cup, or an alternative to that, I suppose, then he'd probably pop back down for their playoff run.
For someone who:
1. Never started a game in the NHL
2. Almost didn't play the 3rd due to cramps and stuff (or something like that)
3. Was the only person who showed up in the third period
4. Had our wonderful D play in front of him
He was amazing. I really hope he gets the nod on Saturday and hopefully picks up his first win.
Hey, I'm giddy over how well he played. That being said, I don't want him to be our full-time starter next season (unless he pulls a Roy-like run out of his hiney). He may end up being our long-term solution, but I want him to develop properly.
With G Mathieu Garon expected to miss the remainder of the season with a partially torn groin muscle, Yzerman said the team will explore all available options, including signing available goaltenders out of Europe.
However, it appears that 6-foot-7 Russian Vasily Koshechkin might not be in the plans.
An eighth-round pick in 2002 with national-team experience, Koshechkin remains Lightning property. After Cherepovets, his team in the Kontinental Hockey League, was eliminated from the postseason Thursday, his name was mentioned as a possible target for Tampa Bay for the remainder of the season.
But Jay Grossman, Koshechkin's agent, said there has not been contact from the Lightning.
I guess this way Tokarski gets to go back to the AHL and Caron plays out the string and gets a chance to earn an NHL paycheque and see if anyone's impressed enough with his play to offer him a good enough deal to stay in North America (According to the article, he's already signed with Iserlohn for next season).
