Really? To each their own. I just figured the short travel, 7 home games, and a team with Radim Vrbata as their star was the answer here.
A team with Tippett as there coach with a good goalie and a team that can hold there own is hell. Yeah we would likely beat them but it would be boring as ****, and I like our chances against SJ, COL and CGY more.
Chicago is going to try to drop to 7th spot and to play us in the first round again. I actually hope we play them, they will bring the best out of us. And if we don't win, then so be it. If at our best we can't even beat Chicago then we don't deserve to win the cup.
playing against the yotes would be hella boring. expect it to be sooo low-scoring. why bother buying tix for it? favourite opponents, colorado, calgary,s.j,hawks

If we limp into the playoffs, I agree with you. Chicago would bring out the best.

I imagine a situation where Game One is a Chicago blowout, whereupon the Canucks are woken up and proceed to win four out of the next five. The crease crashing of David Booth is met with much complaint from Chicago media and Corey Crawford is left as an emotional wreck by the end of the series.
I hope PHX misses playoffs, so then there's one less boring trap team we don't have to worry about. I want CGY/SJ/COL/CHI/PHX in that order. Colorado is actually starting to get my attention because they seem like a team that could grind out wins.
Personally I don't care about being that entertained with w/e match up they get. I just want to see the Canucks win the cup no matter what route they take. As long as they prove that they can be the best in the league and beat all the teams they face Also want to see the Canucks to prove all the haters wrong.
Sometimes a challenge/some adversity is good in the first couple of rounds. Whether it be being down 2-0 (ex. Boston against Montreal; Pittsburgh against Washington) or facing your rival right away (ex. Chicago). I felt like after we beat the 'Hawks last year we were destined to go far, and we did. Sometimes the easy match-up isn't always good for the team's mentality going into the playoffs. Nonetheless, I wouldn't put much past the Canucks.
