I was a season ticket holder for over 10 years. I called you out as a FRAUD the minute we met on the concourse. Nobody on the boards believed me. Glad to see your plans are still struggling. BTW, what plan are you on now?
I also said many years ago that it was BAD NEWS if you ever owned BOTH the Bullets
and the Caps......nuff said there!
I want you to remember this.......Bruce Cassidy has MORE rings than YOU DO!
Seriously though, there are far worse owners than Ted. He's a good owner. Get rid of GMGM and this can be a quick mini-rebuild. The Caps just had the best 5 year strech in franchise history.
I'm sure you really ingratiated yourself by calling him a fraud.

George McPhee....The Teflon GM. 15 years of failure and counting....

Ted seems like a guy who doesn't really know much about hockey. He's one of those casual fans who always asks how the team's doing but doesn't actually watch.
Ted: "How's the team doing, George?"
McPhee: "Doing great, Ted."
Ted: "Swell! Whatever you need, buddy."
Assistant: "Uh, Mr. Leonsis, the team's losing."
Ted: "What!"

...
Ted set this team back 5 years or so by trying to be hands on early in his tenure as owner. After the Jagr fiasco he has pretty clearly stepped back and let the hockey people do their jobs (for better or worse).
No idea how hot GMGM's seat is, really, so I couldn't blame Ted for not firing him yet (the rebuild went more or less the way he probably expected it to and he would have pretty clearly signed off on it so between then and now this is the first time he would have had much reason to consider it) even if I thought he had to go.
Ted and George's plan didn't have a provision to accidentally ping pong ball into the best player on the planet. They stuck to the plan and have a boat load of good young defensemen to show for it dammit. If Ovi's highest priority before stepping onto the ice wasn't to shave religiously, maybe you see one grey hair on that chin of his.
Make no mistake, Ted is no fraud. CD tossing, hot dog eating, @aol email checking, inexperienced hockey owner, sure. But he has good intentions and deep pockets and I for one am happy at least he is not cheap.

Yeah for sure. Would people prefer crusty Abe Polin? He was a crucial cheapskate!
He wouldn't pay Stevens or Hatcher. Nixed a trade that would have sent Team Teemu here (in his prime) due to not wanting to pay him.
Poile was instructed to trade Dynamite Dino b/c Pollin didn't want to pay him the 800k he was due.

Ted has two jobs
1) Hire a GM and President
2) Sign checks
He is not a good owner, he is like Dan Snyder, a fan with a lot of money who has good intentions but has no idea what they're doing.

That IS true...not saying he's the worst.....just a fraud. He gets credit for "answering the fans emails"....WHOOPIE! Have you ever received one? Stevie Wonder can type 3 word emails.
From the day he bought the team, he's played the fans like a fiddle....hell he beat one fan up on the concourse! As an owner, he must learn that winning a Stanley Cup is not a right.....it has to be earned. He gets on the radio/TV (way too much for my liking) and talks like its "our turn" to win a Stanley Cup.
He fleeced the fans with the talent dumping prior to the lockout, he LUCKED OUT getting OV here, he gave him too much money too soon, and now THEY ARE BOTH sucking wind.
Not sure about GMGM....you'll have to tell me who you are going to replace him with. I mean, the Gabby to Hunter has worked just great. BWHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
