Jonas 1050 - Carter Ashton on my flight to Pittsburgh. Leafs may need a body tonight with Lupul/Armstrong out. Would be first NHL game.

If they didnt use this callup on Kadri, yes I believe Kadri's days are done here. Clearly have no faith in him.... Unbelievable

Nazem Kadri could be a big Bargaining chip this offseason, he's not a Carlyle type of player anyway.

Or maybe the organization wants to take a good look at their new big toy. Geez, why does everything have to be about Kadri, Burke said he doesn't think he's quite ready yet, that doesn't mean we're giving up on him. Unbelievable the way Leafs land revolves around Nazem. I want to see this kid, so does the organization, take it easy.

AHL players are not big chips in trades.

Lupul is out, without him there is no playoff run regardless and so it's a great chance to experiment. I would do the same if that even matters (and it doesn't)

They are fighting tooth and nail to make the playoffs. Not exactly the right time for auditions.

I see this as not taking out a key role player in a playoff bound AHL team. Carter Ashton just joined the team so him not staying down isn't a big deal since he wasn't a core player to begin with. He wont be missed by the Marlies

One kid over another, and this kid is defensively responsible by all accounts. Nothing wrong with this call up.

Ashton getting the first call up also sends a message to the Marlies who have been there all season working hard to get a chance.

Not surprising though as Burke has to shown off his latest.

Its time to give that dream up. Lets get real. All thats left of this season is padding Kessel's magnificent point totals. We've got what like less than a 10% chance of making the playoffs now? Give it up guys. Maybe a few games ago I'd say yea, we have a chance, but hope on the tank its moving alot faster

They've also been working really hard to get teh team where itis and how do youknow they so desperately want to leave that?? Maybe a player like Colborne is happy playing a more major role in the fantastic season they've been putting together?

Maybe some of the players feel like Dallas EAkins, if they can't be major contributors in the bigs then they wanna be major contributurs to the team they're playing on.

Possibility here is that its an emergency recall, if Lupul is placed on IR, or Armstrong. Wont burn our final callup. So, maybe there is hope for Kadri after all? If its true I have no idea. Pure speculation
