Kulemin-Bozak-Kessel - experienced
MacArthur-Grabovski-Frattin - no change
Connolly-Steckel-Ashton - experiment
Crabb/Rosehill-Lombardi-Brown/Rosehill - need one

why not let ashton play with the other prospects and gain some chemistry during a run before the playoffs

excited to see ashton but seems like a desperate move

That's what I was thinking as well.

Ashton can slide in on the third line. I'm excited to see what this kid can bring to the table.

It is hilarious how people always find a way to turn it into a negative.
Your not getting the point.

Im not saying it wont be good for Ashton, im saying IMO (which I could be dead wrong, but I have felt this way) it isnt the right move for the team. Colborne and Frattin played when the game meant nothing playoff wise. As far out as we are, Burke, Carylyle and the Leafs have to go hard for the playoffs. As a Leaf fan I wouldnt expect anything less. I dont see how Ashton can help the Leafs more than Kadri can, and at this point (16 games left) thats all that should matter

Not surprising though as Burke has to shown off his latest.
Wow really? Thats just the most dumbest thing anyone can ever say. First of all, why would you bring up a core piece of the marlies team when they're in the hunt for the playoffs? Weren't you one of those guys who didn't want certain players called up because of that? Now that happens and people complain my goodness I ****ing hate this fan base

Don't you think after all the call-ups that he has had the Leafs know what Kadri is about? I don't see any mystery here.

They can still call-up Kadri, but they know what he does in the NHL.

This would be about giving Ashton the same advantage Colborne and Frattin had last year. This would be about giving him a chance to get a taste and see what the NHL is like. This way he could prepare himself and knowing what he needs to do to make the NHL. This isn't a sign of them writing off Kadri, far from it. It's about giving Ashton a leg up of what to train for.

Similar to how Carlyle is training implementing his new system with 15+ games left to end the season instead of going into training camp with every player being new to the system. It gives the team a taste of it so they can hopefully get off to a good start.

For those getting their panties in knot over Kadri not coming up, he's ineligible.

He's from Ontario.

First off, we should panic, this may be the end of the world.

Next we should use this as proof that Burke is a failure as a GM.

Next we should all point out this disaster is all a direct result of the Kessel trade.

Now panic again.

Now we should point out how this is proof Kadri is a failure and will never be a good hockey player.

Lastly, put your hands up in air and run around screaming " The sky is falling, the sky is falling ! " and thank Chicken Little for his inspiration.

Or....

We could chill and consider that maybe they just want size or a look at the new guy ? I know, crazy, back to Chicken Little...

What's idiotic is to base one single person's comment as representation of an entire fan base. Give your head a shake.

Yes, this was my thought also, we probably still have 1 recall left.

Can't believe Mueller wasn't called up considering he'll be an RFA in the summer. I thought they'd give him a good look. I had a feeling it would be one of these two though. Both have size and would fit into Carlyle's style nicely.

Some of these responses remind of that joke about the guy whose mother-in-law buys him two ties for Christmas, and when he wears one to go see her that day, she asks "what, you didn't like the other one??"

Give it a rest people. Firstly- Ashton is considered a near NHL ready prospect. Second, RC is trying to get the team to play a style down the stretch that fits with Ashton's game, and third - the Leafs want guys like Colborne and Kadri to just focus on the Marlies and preparing for the playoffs right now.

This move makes sense in a logical world - unfortunately some here don't live in a logical world.

I'm thinking this is an emergency recall. Don't think it'll count against our recall limit.

Kulemin hasn't been a black-hole offensively in the past. Let's face it--Kulemin would only bring down any 'scoring' line he's on this year.

Let's just hope he bounces back next season.

Regarding Ashton and the other promising AHL prospects, I don't quite see this as Kadri's final straw with the big club. Now if another 1 or 2 forwards get a call up ahead of Kadri I'll be alarmed but it's not like we're bringing up a guy who's a league below Kadri anyway--I see them as equall with different skill-sets

Look man, if you can't come up with something negative to say or read too much into this situation I'm not sure I can take your posts seriously.

I remember that line being pretty dynamite in the past. Then again that was well before Kessel and Lupul both started playing a PPG pace.

Hahahaha! Nice One! Probably would've come up had Xherry shut up but Burke likely brought up Ashton instead. Add another Western Canadian to the roster!

Keith Aulie, has one fight and is +3 since joining Tampa. Seems to be fitting in.
