Manning can sign with whoever he wants now. Should we go after him despite his previous neck injury?

I can see it now, Manning comes to AZ and Glendale all of a sudden becomes a destination hot spot. The economy in AZ gets a boost from all the ticket sales and trips to Westgate. The Coyotes get an owner and make it out of the first round of the playoffs. Glendales time to shine is now. Get it done.

I love the positive spin on this. I want Manning to sign with us if his past injuries arent a problem and the team has the means to do it along with Manning wanting to sign with us.

I see it happening. He seems to have a good relationship with Fitz. He would be perfect here. Now if we had not lost DRC. Kolb is a bust!

I read reports the other day that he was working out at Duke or somewhere like that and many sources said he looked fantastic. He was hitting throws like normal Peyton.

I'm in favor of bringing in Steve Nash. He's Canadian and a good passer, what could go wrong?

Not a huge Caridnals fan. I'm a huge Dolphins fan though. What is the OL situation in AZ like? I think that will be a factor in Peyton deciding on where he wants to go. He has to choose fast though, there are teams looking to trade up with the Rams in order to secure a QB early on in the draft, because there are still some good ones to choose outside of Luck.

As a Dolphins fan, I would love for him to come to Miami, and we draft Blackmon from OSU. That would be the best of all situations. With Marshall and Bess already on the receiving core, adding Blackmon with Manning, our passing game would be one to rival some of the best in the league IMO. We have a big OL, and our running game can only get better off of the threat of the pass.

Sorry, rambling about a team outside of AZ.

The Cardinals OL situation is so bad they are thinking about bringing back Levi Brown because there may not be many alternatives. Levi "The Matador" Brown was borderline terrible last year. If they don't make any major upgrades to that line, they better get good insurance for their QB's.

Normally I would say the OL is not too trustworthy, but it always seems to work out well for a QB with the ability to stay in the pocket. I'd still be leery (if I were Manning).... to me another HUGE upside to this would be the mentoring of Skelton.

Not a Cardinal fan (can't stand Bidwell), but a big Peyton Manning fan.
if he signs with the Cards' he will likely bring in players during the offseason (speculation has it that what ever team signs him will also sign Wayne), don't know which other players the Colts will release

If he's smart, he will. Wiz got a team to the superbowl with Warner. I'm sure he can with Manning. The defense also turned around in the 2nd half under Horton. As long as they make some solid moves around Manning, the Cardinals can contend.

manning is a stud! My whole family is Vols diehard fans. Wherever he goes, I become a fan of theirs (as long as its not the 49ers)

Listening to these "experts" today it sounds like the top 2 teams they believe that have a real shot at Manning are Arizona and Miami with most picking Miami with the OL as the deciding factor.
No question the Cards will fix the OL this offseason both through the draft and any signings. The question is will that be enough to help get Peyton to the Cards along with getting the big money and signing Wayne?

What do you do with Kolb though if you go for Manning? Isn't his contract pretty big? I'm just speculating it's a decent sized contract with what you gave up for him.

In today's NFL, no contract is guranteed. Kolb can easly be waived but Ill check his contract to see how much of a buyout it is. Coach WIz hinted last season about being open to such a player if he came available after Kolb was signed.

Emmitt Smith was a pretty big name that eventually found his way here once he was washed up. Emmitt was a little younger and a lot healthier, though. Not very pricey, either. Now, obviously tail backs have shorter careers than QBs. So having said that, Edgerrin James comes to mind. Then again, Kurt Warner worked out just fine.

James had 2 1,000+ yard seasons before being replaced by Hightower. His average per run actually got better under Whiz. I don't think he was bad, merely serviceable. A QB can be 50 years old and still be effective. It depends on the guys in front of him and the guys down field. Having Boldin, Fitz and Breaston was a dream for Warner.

Fun fact: Boldin and Fitz were only the third tandem in history to do 100 receptions and 1400+ yards in a season with Warner. One of the other pairs? Torry Holt and Isaac Bruce catching passes from... Kurt Warner. The Cardinals dumped Boldin (the Cardinal version of Shane Doan) and Breaston, which was stupid. Warner was smart to retire.

AZCentral hard at work at getting the Cardians Fans into buying the idea of Manning being the man that will finish what Kurt started and yet Manning isn't close to deciding who he wants to sign with.

Now if only Dan Dickley and company would put just as much positive spin and such into selling the Coyotes.

Seriously, Phoenix media is a joke. It's not even football season. I don't usually read the Phoenix papers and such, but I know they don't put near as much effort as they could in covering the Coyotes. Wasn't there a press conference when Tippett first got to Phoenix that he was embarrassed with the showing after one of the games or something like that? I vaguely remember something like that.

The good news is that most of the media in Phoenix is failing and Fox 10 and KFYI are doing better than the rest of the competetion. The Republic continues to lose readership often and 12 News proved to be the joke they really are, not only by spening more money on getting a new studio that resembels what you see on the today show and nothing on bring in quality journalists, but also dedicate almost an entire newscast to seeing an anchor shaving his pornstache he had for years for charity.

But to be fair to the Phoenix media here, football is always talked about no matter what time of the year no matter the media market in the US for Football in the United States is just like Hockey in Canada or Soccer in most countries on the planet.

This! Football rules all in the US, even baseball "America's game" does not stack up to football. That said, if the Coyotes were looking at landing the NHL equivalent of Peyton Manning (Crosby?), I would hope the AZ media would give it some serious coverage but I wouldn't bet on it.
