Word spreading around is that Manning is meeting with people in the Broncos organization tonight but Arizona is still on his list of teams to sign with.

Gee... why would Payton wanna be here if Wiz is supposedly a "running game" coach. Can we finally throw that misconception out the window?

I say this with a full disclosure that I am not a cardinals fan but how will they get manning and his boys when they are 13 million over the cap already? Lots of cuts to be made

As mentioned before, no contracts are guranteed in todays NFL(Hence Manning and Leinhart). There are going to be cuts for sure and if Manning comes you can expect to see some others from Indy coming here as well to replace. If Kolb is kicked to the curb by the deadline then the Cards save $7 million on a bonus alone. If the Cards didn't think they can do it from the beginning then the tires would have never been kicked from the beginning.

As I understand it they would save 2 million cutting kolb, 17 million cutting brown and 5 million cutting other older players. That only leaves 11 million for pm and company, and the drafted players....

That bonus does not count against the cap...

I am no cap geek but was going off this:

John Clayton

@ClaytonESPN 9h For what it's worth, the Cards have the highest cash payroll in the league at $119 million.

@ClaytonESPN 9h Cards can get under the cap quickly if they cut Levi Brown and get a long-term deal done with C. Campbell

@ClaytonESPN 9h After putting the RFA tenders in to Cards cap and counting C. Campbell's franchise tag, Cards are $13 million over the cap.

Arizona ranks well down the list with about $3 million in cap space. That number could balloon if the team releases Levi Brown or restructures his contract.
The cap is expected to be ~123 million, and 'cash' payroll is not the same as the actual cap figure. Too bad there's no capgeek for the NFL yet.

I'm pretty sure Fitz and Dockett would be more than willing to restructure their contracts to give Peyton more money. We'll find a way.

A $16 million swing in a few days? Come on now. Someone isn't doing the math right. All I've seen is role players like Toler getting tenders. How much money could that possibly be? I know they tagged Campbell and don't get the relief of a long term deal until he's signed to one, but damn son.

I apologize for getting off topic on the off topic thread, but can someone tell me how to automatically add a statement to the bottom of all of my posts, like RT's "this poster should not be taken seriously"?

You have to become a sponsor to access the signature feature or become a mod.

I don't think being a mod is for me!

Don't know if I care to sponsor something so regulated.... shame.

Thanks, buddy!

It costs 12 bucks a year to do it.

Yeah, I just sponsored. I decided my message is more important than worrying about censorship.

Thanks again!

Edit: I wish it would add my signature to previous posts!

Manning expected to land at 7:22PM. Hopefully the media doesn't hound him like they did in Miami.

Oh, ok. Cuz as far as I knew, he had only been to Denver and AZ visit seems like a secret.

To Miami's credit, Manning has a pad there. I do wish the media would leave him be though. He already stated he hasn't even thought about it. Just let the whole situation run its course.
