I hope they give him a legitimate look if they keep him up for the allotted games he's allowed. I know it's great for him and it's Flames first but his jr team is battling for 1st.

Sigh that was my thought when I remembered how Sutter plays rookies.

Knowing our luck we'll end up with something like:

Tangs-Stajan-Iggy
Glencross-Kolanos-Kostopolus
Desbien-Jokinen-Moss
Bartschi-Horak-Nemisz

And the 4th line gets like 2 minutes all night.

if thats the case it defeats the purpose of bringing a guy up from the chl.
we have plenty of grinders on the heat capable of coming up and filling a role, but we need offensive creativity, something the heat lacks and bartschi is full of.

youll see him get a shot to play big minutes on pp etc im sure.

I would go with...

Tangs-Stajan-Iggy
GlenX-Jokinen-Moss
Bartschi-Kolanos-Kostopolous
Desbien-Horak-Nemisz

Put Bartschi with some vets, not Horak and Nemisz. The first two lines must stay untouched, we do have a game to win after all.

Bart is listed #15 prospect by Hockey News. He is #1 from the WHL. So you are likely right.

Something i love about bartschi, and is hard to find in the nhl especially amoung young forwards, is hes consistent he has a point in all but 6 games out of 47

I'm excited, but don't have any high expectations. Let's hope he can contribute in some capacity, even if it's not on the score sheet.

Sven is on the smaller side and he still has some growing to do. Hopefully he is ready to make the jump next year cause we sure could use some top end talent.

This is a great opportunity to get a glimpse of the future. I was hoping he'd get a crack with some talent, but he's slotted with Kostopolous ad Nemsiz out of the gate. I would have preferred Horak and Nemisz but I'll be happy watching the youngster take a regular skate out there.

Tanguay-Stajan-Iginla; Glencross-Jokinen-Moss; Kostopoulos-Nemisz-Baertschi; Kolanos-Horak-Desbiens

Flames lineup for Tomorrows Jets game.

I would have liked Moss and Baertschi to swap places.

I'm sure the lines will be juggled alot. If he can show some jump with Kostop & Nemisz, he should get some time in the top 6. I would love to see him with Iggy even for a shift or 2.

I feel like the OMG line will stick together. If anything, if Stajan doesn't play well I think he'll be inserted there.

I think putting sven on the top 6 first game in the big league is a bad idea. opposing players will likely be after him, given his minor league jump. TKO on a line with him makes a good deterrent.

I see what you are saying but if someone hits Sven and TKO fights him then what we leave Sven on the bench for 5+ minutes so his body guard can come back, what if Tko gets hurt we just leave Sven on the bench? Not to mention Sven is a playmaker and TKO has shown to have the offensive skill of a cement block. I think GlenX is physical enough to fight if someone runs Sven and also gives him skilled players to play with.

Seems about right. I'd like to see him with Horak instead of Nemisz, but meh. I think putting him with a player like TKO is ok.

If he is flying i'm sure you will see Sutter mash his lines up. If Sven is doing well I could see him very easily getting time with Jokinen and Glencross.

Yeah put him with Glencross. He's probably the best finisher on our team. He's shooting over 25% this season so let the kid get him the puck.

I imagine he'll be all over the place at any point in the game, just to see where he fits in.

Is Nemo a centre?

I'd doubt those are the lines used tomorrow night, unless that line only gets 4 minutes of ice time...

He should be playing in our top 6. He's a top 6 player, and its time we start developing the players we draft for their proper roles. Personally I'd like to see him with Jokinen and Glencross, both those guys have size to protect him and have the finish and skill to compliment his game. Put Stajan with Iggy and Tangs.

While Nemisz has good size, he isn't a physical player. I think a line of Baertschi, Horak and Baertschi would be a soft line to play against. I'm worried one of them would get hurt.

Our bottom 6 is pretty rough to look at; I'm thinking Horak as third line center though.

I don't know that a guy who has a reputation for losing all fights ever is a particularly good deterrent. Haha

I'm excited to see what he can do as well. This should be great. He is lighting it up in the dub; so i hope he gets some top six time. Maybe ease him into game speed with some bottom six minutes and then let him loose and see what he can do.

I am a Winterhawks season ticket holder, so personally I am pissed that you guys called him up because we had the Memorial Cup dead in our sites and that dream fled with Bartschi to Calgary. But I am happy for Sven. since you guys don't seem to have much Intel on him, just let me say that this kid is the real deal. He is magic with the puck, has great instincts, and mad shooting skills. He can put the puck wherever he wants, and his passing skills are as good as his shooting skills. Trust me, he will be an instant contributor if they give him playing time. The bottom line is, Portland's loss is Calgary's gain. Enjoy!
