Well this is a crapshoot for me. Either team winning in OT/SO would suffice. Would actually prefer the Jets because they need the points more, but I want the Canucks to get out of their funk. And people wouldn't say if the Sedins scored lots against the Jets that it would be like their games against the Oilers, etc.
Leafs are winning, but standings wise they're in the worst spot of all the contenders.
They're bound to win some games, but with the coaching change and the injuries that they're starting to have I think they're far away from contending now.
Washington is pretty much the only team I'm worried about now.
Of course the Jets just have to win enough games and they'll make it. Realistically their playoff fate is in their own hands.
I'm in Hawaii at the moment, and we go to a place called Giovanni Pastrami's to watch the Jets game with numerous other Jets fans. I've been walking around with my jersey and have had multiple high-fives or shoutouts from fellow Winnipeggers as well as NHL fans.
There are a lot of Canuck fans here too, however. We'll see how packed that place gets tomorrow at 5:00pm!!
Would just like to remind y'all that we do have a thread for games and news around the league that you might want to join in on if you're watching the games.
The Canucks are in an exclusive stratosphere occupied by a few other select elite teams in the league. They are good. Damn good. But this is a game where the Jets can come in flying under the radar (to the Canucks) and steal this game since the guys are focused on keeping 8th if not reaching for SE title.
I think a key for the Jets is not to show any timidity. The Sedins are the Sedins...we're not gonna make them a non-factor but guys like Buff stay in their face every shift they can mitigate the Sedin threat.
The Canucks are trying to craft their line right now so they can gel by/peak at playoffs. Jets are playing the bets they have all season. Add to that that we NEED this win and they have the NW title comfortably in their pocket and I anticipate a better game time mentality for the Jets.
The wild card: Schneider. Dude is better than the gold medal starter. We will need Kane to step up.
As a canucks fan that lives in winnipeg, Id like to see winnipeg win this one. Vancouver is already in the playoffs and have rank 2 or 1 locked up. Winnipeg needs to make the playoffs.
Still, you should be aware by now that no one likes Luongo other than a few Canucks fans. Posts like these shouldn't come as a surprise if you've spent any time on the main board.
This is so far from the truth it's kind of comical. No sane canuck/luongo fan is going to sit in luongo topics and defend him. The "few" fans you see doing that have an IQ below 80.

It's going to be an interesting test for the Jets, for sure. Vancouver might be asleep right now, but they're amazingly dangerous. If the Sedins wake up tomorrow, it could be a long night. I agree regarding Schneider - Jets will have to be at the top of their game.
Yeah, nobody really likes Luongo. I'm fine with that.
Good luck, guys. We suck lately so hopefully you can get at least a point. I want you in the playoffs.
Good man. We need the 2 points more than you so share them up like a good Canadian. Take one more game off before AV decides to wake the boys up.
Quick question, what does Gillis do with Schneider?? We have Pavelec and I think most other Jets fans would agree he is our guy no doubt so only asking for sake of curiosity. Not often you get to have better back up than your Olympian starter.

The main board comment wasn't my entire base of reasoning.
HF is comical enough as it is, but I stand by my original comment that other than some Canucks fans, Luongo is generally disliked by hockey fans.

So you know, 'everyone' doesn't post in the main board. I understand not liking him and all, but it's usually better to express YOUR opinion rather than "everyone elses".
The main board, like most boards, usually draws out the haters.

Hopefully an OT game, like to see the Jets get a point at least.

That was why I made an additional post saying "The main board comment wasn't my entire base of reasoning."

Haha good place, been there before. Another few canadian pubs on Lewers too - there was a place called Moose Mcgillicuddys right beside where I stayed when I was there.
BTW If you are looking for some good beaches that aren't too busy, Waimanalo Beach was by far the best I was at. Some great waves if you get there on a good day, NO rocks unlike Waikiki, and very few people there. We were told about it by a local lifeguard when we went to Sandy Beach. Went back three times and every time there were only a handful of people.

Should be a good tilt.
Yeah, another bro (or sis) posting on here opined that this could be the most entertaining game of the year. I would have to agree. Jets are riding some wild momentum which can bring out the best in a lot of our guys, especially like Kane and Wheels, young starts that want to make a difference on the ice. And I have never seen the Canucks play a dull game in the last 2 years (have only seen 7-8 regular season games) so should be a dandy.
What really peaks my interest is Buff;s comments re: team needs to "bring their own noise". I am impressed with Buff stepping up and laying down a narrative for the rest of the team to follow. I have read many comments by Jets players describing Buff as a quiet leader and methinks that any chance Jets have at post-season will rely heavily on Buff providing some leadership since he's been there and won that. Big Dipper isn't just a star...he's his own constellation. And we need him to play that way.
Also, with Kane getting his own bobblehead night from the Giants I hope he gets some hometown motivation for a big night. To beat the Canucks, you need to bring your big guns out.
The main board comment wasn't my entire base of reasoning.

I have to agree with you. Hate-ons for Lou are pretty common. Especially on HF boards. I thought it was common knowledge that Lou came down a notch or two since trying to get Thomas to pump his tires, no?
