I don't see the whole Minnesota-Edmonton trade happening and doubt Montreal goes with Forsberg if anyone they'd try to trade up.

Doubt Edmonton moves that pick, especially to someone in division.

From an Oiler POV? They need D and a trade down is the most logical thing, after Yakupov everyone is a bit of a question mark.

FRom a Wild POV? Why not? The have the assets to give out here. The potential that Koivu mentors Grigorenko is also appealing.

I can't truly argue against the proposed Wild-Oilers trade, but I don't like it (from a Wild perspective). I have Galchenyuk over Grigorenko on "my board," and I think the Wild have enough needs that can be satisfied with other options that will be on the board at 6 (if we're even picking that late, at this rate we're looking at possibly 4th) that I don't think it's worth the cost of moving up.

Pass from the Canes. We already have 2 seconds this year, no need to get a 3rd and pass on drafting Galchenyuk. They're far more likely to try to trade up with Edmonton to the #2 pick then they are to trade down with Tampa to #10.

If the 2nd overall is available, then Toronto will outbid Minnesota and do what it takes to move up and grab Grigorenko.

You aren't the TML. The asking price will be atrocious and Burke wont give up that much to take a Russian. You can bet on it.

Of course I'm the TML, I'm Don ****ing Draper

And I was responding to the OP. If the price was Phillips, a 2nd and the 1st, then Toronto could easily outbid if they wanted. Whether or not Burke does it is up to him. And I love when people who say "he won't do it to take a Russian".. like you could possibly know what he might or might not do (not that I do either lol).

No need to get snappy now that Schultzie might be walkin out on your team, spud

As a Wild fan, I don't see Minnesota trading up just to draft Grigorinko. Especially at the expense of giving up a prospect like Phillips.

(Plus he's a Russian, and our owner is not really big on Russian players.)

But who knows....maybe Fletcher shakes things up and does this. I had never considered it before, as I figured we would only trade down.

I can't wait for the draft!
